a great young squad eh?

along with giroud and podolski.

Fabianski still here.

Sadly wenger's defence will be our end of season form from last season. So why change the squad??

Bang goes our only realistic chance of silverware this season then.

Oh how I long for the glory days of 2007, 2009 and 2010 when we'd win the Emirates Cup with ease. Definitely some of the best days of my life - the orange quadrant bathed in hot sunshine, red shirts and mexican waves, and the sense that the club was genuinely ready to compete with Europe's elite. I remember turning and hugging the guy next to me when Arshavin knocked in that last-gasp winner against Atletico Madrid back in 2009, and it seemed a massively transitional moment in the club's history. I'm so proud to be able to say 'I was there'.

Three years on from those last joyous celebrations in 2010, and I just don't know anymore. Ever since the New York Red Bulls pipped us to the trophy last year, our confidence just hasn't been the same. I'm not sure we'll ever recover. I'm realistic enough to admit that winning it this year was always going to be a tall order, as we're in a transitional season, but I'm hoping that by 2015 we can see off Granada and Livorno and once again bask in the success of being the Emirates Cup holders.

the youth team is a sham, wilshere and gibbs are the only players to have made it, and we had a reputation for having the best youth academy in the country!
