Every August sid! Every fucking August!! :banghead:

No. They will not make a challenge. They will (yet again) scrap it out with us for 4th and ultimately they will fail in the last weeks as Arsene's homegrown superstars (  ) finally find that "champion's form" the AKB's rave about every May, and we win 7 or 8 games to pip the Scum to 4th. It's groundhog season, old boy, every season. :(

I also think if the Chimp stays with the Scum he will not have quite the season this season as he had last. He wants to leave. If they don’t let him, his form will suffer. Also, the monkeyfeatured cuntbag isn’t as good as the media would have you believe. He is brilliant in flashes, not consistently, and add that to being pissed off with having to stay at a small club and 2+2 = average season from the Gimpchimp. 8)

This Dutch winger they've added is just an inferior like-for-like replacement for Dempsey most likely (who their fans used as a scapegoat even though he scored plenty of important goals).

As for Paulinho and Soldado - both good signings but neither anything like world class. They still lack a top drawer striker like van Judas or Aguero (or a fit and firing Rooney), and Citeh for example have signed similar players in Fernandinho and Negredo in addition to Navas and Jovetic. Chelsea will be better under Mourinho and although United may struggle to hit their heights their squad is still much better than Spurs', and plenty of teams will still happily roll over for them.

Talk of a Spurs title challenge is absolutely insane. Even with Bale CL qualification is the absolute peak of their prospects, and I'd be surprised if they closed the points gap on either Chelsea or Citeh who should both improve this year.

Tbh I would much rather the scum kept hold of monkey man - £85m (or thereabouts) would buy a lot of quality players (at least it does for ambitious clubs not afraid to spend  ) so while they might lose their "star" player, they would probably be a much stronger team and in a better position to leave us behind

Spurs breaking their transfer record twice already this summer is them spending the Bale money in advance. He's off to Madrid, and you can take that to the bank.

I don't understand that view at all.

Firstly, I take it you don't think the £50m + wages they've already spent would eat into that £85m fee for Bale? - I think it would (edit: that £50m is offset by a few sales, I suppose)

Also, surely they'll get a silly fee for Bale eventually anyway, so that's hardly a reason to want him to stay... why not just get it over with? - and isn't it better that they have that money to spend now, when they're viewed as a selling club, with no star players and without champions league football to offer? - they're not a desirable location for top players at the moment, regardless of how much they have to spend, so I reckon the damage they can do is more limited now than if Bale fired them into the CL next season (which would be far more dangerous prospect, I reckon)

Also, from a purely footballing view, Bale is a world class match winner who has carried them all season... yes, they could build a better "team" but how many clubs really do that? - match winners usually are the gold dust that turn good teams into great ones, so I'd rather take our chances and get Bale to Madrid before he does any real damage!

Maybe I'm wrong Augie, but is your opinion based on what you think is best for Arsenal or is it slightly obscured by your desire to see Wenger and the board humiliated? (sorry if that comes across as a dig... it's genuinely not intended to be!  )

Don't tell steve o but I am still harbouring (slim) hopes that wenker will piss off sometime within the next 12 months - why does that factor into my thoughts ? I feel that if the scum sell the chimp and reinvest in quality this season, when we are refusing to buy quality, then we would be in serious serious trouble for finishing in the top 4 this coming season. The potential impact on us cannot be overstated - yes we would have a new manager with a healthy budget but as moyes is finding out, being a big club with money doesn't mean a whole lot when you have a new manager plus we would have no champs league football to offer them. Finishing outside the top 4 this season would be a major major blow for the club - no champs league football, no stars within our ranks and civil war about to break out within the fanbase doesn't bode well so the scum spending big this summer might be big big trouble

I'm scared of Sp*rs finishing above us more than I have ever been but there's no way they will challenge for the title. They just don't have the mentality, the experience and the players for that. Chelsea and Man City are well ahead of them.

Oddly enough, I believe we can challenge for the title if we get in a world-class striker and a solid DM. Sp*rs have arguably done both... Perhaps it's my bias

Also it's interesting to see AVB doing well at Sp*rs. People always ask "if Wenger leaves, who can replace him?" Well, AVB could have been the man. If Sp*rs can get a good manager like him, why can't we?

Look at their defenders.

No way will they mount a challenge - they had Carlton Cole playing for them in a friendly last night!

They won't challenge for the title but if they keep Bale.. with Soldado (41 league goals in 2 seasons!) I can absolutely see them finishing above Arsenal if Wenger doesn't buy some very good players soon. They were so close last season and the year before.

Haven't seen enough of Paulinho to figure out exactly what role he'll play for them but Soldado is not a world-class striker. He's better than anything we've got atm but he isn't world class.

As things stand with squads, it'll be 2 way fight for 4th again. Scousers can forget it, if the scum keep, buck tooth cannibal is gone to Real.

The scum still lack a playmaker, a creator, someone who can see a pass, like Jack ,Artets, Santi and even Rosicky and Rambo sometimes.

It's why we get away with having no World class finisher, one of our midfielder's always comes up with a killer pass. They just don't have that and it mazes me they haven't addressed that. If they are going to rely on having good wing play, a decent organised defence can nullify that. There is only so much running all over the pitch the chimp can get away with.

It's what Manure lack and amazingly Shitty. That is why Manure wanted Cesc so badly. They should let Granny shagger go to chavs only if they are allowed Mata in exchange.

That's why I said "arguably." Soldado's goals-per-game ratio is very good. So whilst he's probably not a world-class striker, he is a great finisher. There aren't many available strikers who around who are better than Soldado.

Yes but he needs ammo and just don't see the ammunition from their attacking players. If chimp boy is going to go back to being just a winger to provide the ammo, then it becomes easier to nullify them.

Still think they're going to buy a creative midfielder whether chimp boy stays or goes....Will I am is up for sale again now that the Voice is off air and Anzhi have gone t*ts up.
