Bas, the couple of photos of Wenger, maybe you have a scoop there. Maybe, just maybe he was saying goodbye?!?!?!

Re: Members Day 2013
Nice pics Bas and Simon, glad you and the kids enjoyed the occasion - that is something Arsenal are good at doing.
Re: Members Day 2013
I bet they made you buy the full kit for your kid first though right?Simon wrote:Went for the first time and thought in general it was a decent bit of PR by the club and a reasonably good day out for a family with Arsenal-mad kids.
However it was rather special for us. My son was incredibly lucky to be one of the Junior Gunners picked to play on the pitch against the first team and as you can imagine it was the most amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience for him.
Some nice pics on the Junior Gunners Facebook page - my son was wearing the number 25 shirt.

Re: Members Day 2013
The kits were given free and the kids got to keep them.

That's a good day for you Simon, must be a great feeling.Simon wrote:The kits were given free and the kids got to keep them.
So, the question we all want to know....has a contract been offered?
Re: Members Day 2013
He'd be torn between his love for AFC and his loyalty to his Sunday League team-mates, but in any case he'll need some assurances from Messrs Wenger and Gazidis that the club's future ambition matches his own!
I've also tried out this joke on him. He wasn't amused.
Me, pretending to be on the phone: "I've already told you he won't talk to you. Stop calling this number." (slamming down phone)
Son: "Who was that, dad?"
Me: "André Villas-Boas."

When my daughter was a flag waver before the Carling Cup semi V Ipswich she had to have her own kit, and also when she was mascot for the Arsenal ladies a few years ago, so good to see that the new commercial deals have enabled the club to spend money where it is needed most

Re: Members Day 2013
My boy is delighted with his kit. If he did ever choose to sell it (and it would be his decision alone), the proceeds would go to charity.
I appreciate many people (myself included) have strong criticisms of the club, but you should understand that for the 30 incredibly lucky kids who were selected at random to play the match it was a truly amazing experience and a great gesture by Arsenal.

Glad you guys had a good day, and must have been a proud moment to see your kid out there.Simon wrote:My boy is delighted with his kit. If he did ever choose to sell it (and it would be his decision alone), the proceeds would go to charity.

Closest I ever got was when I won an an Arsenal Award (no idea if the Junior Gunners still do it) back in 97, got to meet the team that later won the double.
