You probably enjoyed that season due to its unpredictability, I’m convinced that the first season after Wenger, whenever it is, I will enjoy more than I have done for a while (unless we absolutely collapse of course). Everything at the moment just seems so predictable, year after year. I just find us completely boring/frustrating at the moment.

Also was kind of a fans hero from day one.
I think I remember he made his debut against Sheff Wed (at Hillsborough, I think) in a 3-1 (or 4-1) victory. I seem to remember watching the game on Sky and thinking the player stood out like a sore thumb - he looked fantastic! then again, I'd got used to midfielders like Jensen, Hillier and Parlour, so seeing a guy with that much quality was eye opening.
I think I started to get excited about Wenger's arrival at that point. Even Remi Garde impressed me.

Ahhh, but its not about quantity is it Herd.....its about 'exceptional quality'......we will maybe look to add one or two experienced players blah blah.......and don't forget how active we've been in the 'internal market'.......Akpom looks every bit as good as Lupoli and Quincy so millions saved there too
