I've got a couple of questions about Neymar. Do you think he'll be a success in Barcelona and was £50m a risk worth taking? I've seen interviews/press conferences with Neymar and he appears to be humble but is he truly like that or is he putting on a show? Will he be content with being second to Messi? And finally do you think he has the potential do be better than Messi?

Also how do you think Brazil will do in the World Cup? Was their success this summer a one-off or a sign of things to come?

So, Neymar has definetly some special talent about him. He was always head and shoulders above everyone around here, even though he went missing on several matches, when he was double marked by a full back and a holding mid as cover.

He has shown in the conf cup that he is able to adapt to a faster football so i think he will be a sucess ( btw his fee is till this day a mistery as he is all chopped up and is reported to have taken 10mil directly)

Said that, i don't know how not being the supreme star will affect him in the mid to long run. he is used to bein treated like a king and getting beatles like girls following wherever he goes, so the second fiddle thing might get to him. And let's not kid ourselves, he's good but he'll never be a Messi. A factor here is the fact that 5 of his childhood friends moved to barcelona with him and are his professional entourage. Don't think the other barça players, very keen on being low profile off pitch ( except when trying to tap Arsenal's talent up, them :censored: ) will see this kind of behaviour as acceptable

Brazil would never win the WC if it was being played anywhere else, but the home factor looks to be huge here. usually fickle and quite bitchy fans really got behind the kids and pushed them trough hardness. Said that, Spain was also toilet in the last CCup and they won the WC. Germany is the one to beat and Argentina finally became a side that suits messi's way to play. And they thrive on silencing crowds, so i'd say it's between these four with Italy as a darker horse. ( No england doesn't stand a chance 8) )

Hi, I would not mind, you could rename it into an 'International league thread' if you want...or just post topics related to other leagues here

Cheers,
Thomas

Hence most weeks players from our club ringing round their mates from other clubs on a Saturday morning to find out injury and availability news that the bookies don't have and then sticking 20 quid on a treble that almost always comes in. It's an absolute scandal but I know people that pocket a fairly substantial amount of money over a season doing it.

 really, i live near Aberystwyth, but never thought about betting on any Welsh league games, funnily enough i even know one of the players who play for Aberystwyth. But i presume your talking about the league below, not the Welsh PL :D :D

If you know any news or tips matey, send me a PM, Diolch 8)

Yeah like I said Welsh Prem is pretty good (have a few mates who have uni friends playing for Welsh Prem teams) but bookies are a bit wiser to that - the South feeder league (Welsh Football League Div One) is a goldmine. I'll keep my ear to the ground :barscarf:
