Brady did not bring in any of the players you have mentioned, if you really look at it closely in the time period he was there he did not bring in one player and its been quoted that hes on £300,000 a year running that academy. Hes been there far to long doing a bad job. "Good player crap Head of Youth" I think he paid a lot of money for Anthony Stokes
but I have heard he made lots of mistakes in his rain.

Brady bigged up one young guy that was setting tongues wagging and had 'very high hopes for' . Said he was the most promising Irish player they had in years, went by the name Anthony Stokes :? Very wrong unfortunately . File under 'What were we thinking ' ....( slash/Tosser for that matter). Hopefully who ever fills the position is left with some unpolished gems and we won't be just looking at Wiltshire and Gibbs as his legacy.

Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Dutchman Andries Jonker as head of their academy.

The 51-year-old, currently the assistant manager at Wolfsburg in Germany's Bundesliga, will join Arsenal on July 1 and will succeed Liam Brady in the role.

Brady, currently the Gunners' head of youth development and the academy, will "help to ensure a smooth transition" with Jonker, who spent seven years developing and implementing youth coaching reforms with the Dutch Football Association, the KNVB.

Manager Arsene Wenger said on arsenal.com: "I am very pleased that Andries is joining us.

"He has a big reputation in the game and was a key part of the team which developed the structures which are now producing such strong young players in Holland.

"I look forward to working with him. I would also like to thank Liam for his work which has been outstanding over many years."

Jonker has also worked as Holland under-21 and under-15 coach, technical manager of the KNVB and assistant coach to Louis van Gaal at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, where he also had a spell as interim head coach.

Arsenal have long been renowned for nurturing young talent and the club hope Jonker will build on Brady's work.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis added: "Youth development is a key part of our philosophy at Arsenal and I am delighted that Andries is joining us.

"He has an outstanding track record in developing and identifying young players and creating systems to bring the best out of them.

"I know he will build on the tremendous work which has been done by Liam and his team over many years."

Andries Joncker

Joncker is our new head of the academy.

Presumably his job is to bring through talent and a recruitment policy that will involve lots of technically gifted players.

He has spent a lot of the last decade and a bit being Louis Van Gaal's assistant even taking over when LvG fell out with the president at Bayern.

He has just left Wolfsburg to join us. His only stunts as manager has been Bayern B and Willem II, the latter being famous for Jason Stand and our very own Marc Overmars.

Most of the info I could glean about him was from that fount of all BS knowledge wikibs so hope It's all accurate. I do know from the stats he'd be a sh*te manager as his win ratio for his career is 28%.

I hope it means we start to have a more structured recruitment policy, instead of just any old sh*te. I hope it means Salomon Clueless never wears an AFC shirt.

I also secretly hope it means if AW does us all a favour and puts Laurent Blanc out of a job.....need a bit of help from the chavs for this .....then Andries could turn to Stan and Ivan and say "Hey guysh, do you fanshy giving my old bossh the job, beeb free right now and shtops the tottenham shcum from getting him ?"

As well as Brady leaving Terry Burton is also stepping down, so they are having a bit of a clear out of guys who have been in their jobs for a long time and maybe gone a little stale.

So are looking to freshen things up with new idea's, new impetus, rather than the same old, same old, year in year out.

:rubchin: :rubchin: :rubchin:

Oooh I know, how about doing that where it really counts, the first team !!! :banghead:

Maybe Ivan and Stan have a cunning plan to do it from the bottom and finish at the top on May 19th......we can but dream but sadly it might be the hope that kills us
