As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It's certainly taken the sheen off the weekend, but never mind.
They play Chavs at home next... should be an interesting game.
This is what does my head in.Stop thinking about the Spuds. We wont win fuck all if our only ambition is to finish above them.Surely after signing a £42m player our expectation are more than finishing 4th.They beat a poor promoted team get over it
Eh? why should I?
They're our bitter rivals mate - I can't ignore them. If you can, good for you but it goes against the grain for the vast majority of football fans to not care when their bitter rivals are playing elsewhere. These rivalries are part of the fabric of the game up and down the country, and across the globe. Rivalries are what gives the game its edge, and regardless of where Sp*rs are in the league (or what division they're in) I'll always think about them when they play, and hope they get a good spanking.
I'm baffled by your post to be honest. There's nothing wrong with local rivalries.
I can sort of see where donaldo is coming from on this one though. There is a difference between always wanting spurs to get shat on from a great height and worrying about a potential 4th place scrap with them when we should be aiming to win the league.
He was replying to my post where I said it took the sheen off the weekend... and a 90th minute Sp*rs winner will always do that.
I've no idea why that should do donaldo's head in at all. They're our local rivals and the club we've been fighting tooth and nail against for the last 2 seasons (finishing 1 point above them on both occasions after an almighty battle) - so whether it's the fact they've been our closest on field rival, off field rival or both... why on earth wouldn't it bug me when Sp*rs score a stoppage time winnner?
What planet are we even on when I have to even explain this? - I'm amazed this isn't a universal feeling amongst ALL gooners! it's Tottnumb ffs!
By the way, take a look at the league table this season, last season or even the season before that and give me one good reason why we should consider ourselves to be too good to be looking at Sp*rs' results... there's 2pts separating the clubs over the last 81 league games!! 2 points!
Agree with g88ner - the Vermin are our historic rivals. Fucking hate them. Even when we were competing head to head with Manure for titles it was always the NLD that gave me the most pre-match nerves. After the 3-2 defeat a couple years back (when we'd strolled to 2-0 at half time) I had to walk back through the celebrating vermin as they left the stadium and I remember thinking "fucking hell I hate these crunts".
Strangely enough I don't think it's the first time we've done them with set pieces. Last year our 1-0 win was from a (deflected) free kick from Podolski and we beat them at home in a midweek game a few years ago courtesy of a Bendtner goal from a corner if I recall correctly.

I know we are all quick to jump on the band wagon and slate the players, but the vocal support today was awful.
the crowd only seem to get going when the score was 1-1,
Where does the 50k attendance come from?? There where hardly any empty seats in the lower tier and the upper tier seemed quite full. Given that the villa attendance was 60k plus, I think someone got their sums wrong.
As for the atmosphere, if you pay more than 100 quid for a ticket your not going to get nutters screaming for the team. Behind both goals there is a decent amount of noise and the mood was generally upbeat.

Actually it was Squillaci would you believe.
Well well well. Clearly I've erased anything useful that bloke did from my memory - hope it didn't take too much time

The match was sold out and went to ticket exchange last week. Attendance down as 60002 in the paper

Had 2 empty seats next to me in block 6, I hate early Sunday kick offs! Everyone is hungover!
On the Telly it looked like there were a good few empty seats in the Lower. And about 10 minutes from the end there were absolute swathes of empty seats. I still don't understand the late arriver/early leaver thing...

Agreed, I couldn't believe the early leavers at the spurs game!! The game was still on a knife edge and why wouldn't you want to see the final whistle of a victory over the scum!? Craziness!
