Re: Sagna
I think he's improving and his experience and versatility are invaluable so I think he should be given a new deal.
Re: Sagna
Head and shoulders above Jenkinson in every way so 2 choices - sign him up or sign someone better.
Still got a lot to offer in my opinion. I like Jenkinson for his effort and tenacity but Sagna is a more composed tackler and before we get too critical of his crossing......Jenkinson's is utter *****

Jenkinson is the best crosser at the club imo (at least the fullbacks)SteveO 35 wrote:Head and shoulders above Jenkinson in every way so 2 choices - sign him up or sign someone better.

Which admittedly isn't saying much

very forgiving therefranksav63 wrote:Whilst I agree that Sagna is definitely playing alot better than last season, Swansea's goal, last Saturday was his fault, he gave up on the runner coming through and just stopped (looked like he couldn't be arsed), if he's not going to sign a new contract, get rid and get a decent right back in January!

Re: Sagna
whilst i appreciate his contribution and he is hard working, he offers nothing going forward, we should have signed his replacement in the summer.

Re: Sagna
Whilst obviously it's an asset to be able to contribute going forward the promulgation of supposedly talented attacking full-backs has gone too far imo - taking Kyle Walker as an example, he is generally rated highly even though his defending is brainless and despite pace he offers very very little in terms of goals and assists because for all his bombing forward he has no end product.clockender1 wrote:whilst i appreciate his contribution and he is hard working, he offers nothing going forward, we should have signed his replacement in the summer.
Now saying that Sagna's completely inability to beat the first man under any circumstances 90% of the time is inexcusable, but for me we should be reining in our full-backs' attacking licences so that we don't have the likes of Podolski, Cazorla, Chamberlain etc babysitting at wing-back so that our full-backs can recklessly push forward and very rarely create a goal.

I was in the process of writing a long rambling reply but then realised I was basically re-wording your post, so I'll try to be succinct instead. You are correct, and Kyle Walker is fucking terrible.northbank123 wrote:Whilst obviously it's an asset to be able to contribute going forward the promulgation of supposedly talented attacking full-backs has gone too far imo - taking Kyle Walker as an example, he is generally rated highly even though his defending is brainless and despite pace he offers very very little in terms of goals and assists because for all his bombing forward he has no end product.clockender1 wrote:whilst i appreciate his contribution and he is hard working, he offers nothing going forward, we should have signed his replacement in the summer.

As long as our full back stops crosses and sees his man down the line then the rest is a bonus, not a pre-requisite.

Re: Sagna
Was pondering this myself but I can't remember their midfield getting any real service to Pandev so it may well have been just as comprehensive.1989 wrote:Indeed. Both full backs were brilliant. Infact the whole defence was brilliant. Although I do wonder how they would have fared if Higuain had played.officepest wrote:Thought he was great tonight.
Could be a different story away mind.

As much as I had no faith in Giroud and Ramseybefore their recent form, and they are proving me wrong, I would like to give Jenkinson a run of games, and in an ideal world he will become Sagna's long term replacement.

Re: Sagna
I'd rather it happen now with a two week International break coming up rather than after it. Still, a shame to lose him for the weekend as he was very good on Tuesday night. Time for Jenko to step up
