It was a slow game never really got going, we started really sluggishly, not taking the game to them at all.
Rambo and Jack had iffy games but the team as a whole played well below par. Gibbs was probably being our best player purely in a defensive apacity till he let Groskreutz run past him to cross for Lewandoski.

Not sure I believe it was tactical masterclass, they just kept their shape and defended well. What Klopp did do right was bringing on pace and width in the form of Hofmann and Aubameyang.

Sh*t result, some schoolboy sh*t going on at the end silly fouls which allowed them to waste from the 86thmin to the 92nd in and around our penalty area.

I thought we could pick up one point from these 2 games because we are never winning in Dortmund.

A point would have been a decent result so I'm not going to slag AW off for once. We missed Flamini badly today and we relly do need that type of player in every game. Rambo/Arteta/Jack none of them are any good at just breaking up play and nothing else.

In the end 2 strikers on form showed their predatory instincts, but the brain fart pissing around at the edge of our penalty area cost us. Dormund aren't the Scum FFS, give them a gimme and they will take it. :( :banghead:

Och well onward, bring on Palace and their dancing girls

And now with Napoli winning as well we all sit at 6 points and we still have to go AWAY to Napoli and Dortmund. By far the hardest matches left of the 3 teams. :cussing:

really, really, really bad: arteta.

arteta slows our game down so much its unbelievable. our last 3 matches including this one, norwich and west brom we have been shit. slow build up and lucky to get some class goals against norwich that game. what's the common theme in those 3 games? Arteta back in the starting line-up.
I'm not sure why Arteta doesn't get more criticism. He's appalling. He was truly out of his depth tonight, just like he's been whenever we've played a top side.

yup. shame this game wasn't last Tuesday - before the AGM.

you can't blame the players - the formation, preparation and tactics were wrong. we only needed a point from this game, instead we gave 3 points to our rivals.

We now need an Away win to finish top. we'll deffo beat Marseille at home, but two draws in Naples and Dortmund ain't going to be enough now

we'll probably finish 2nd and then get Milan or Bayern and go out. yay us ....
Unless we beat either Napoli or BD we will be playing on Thursday Nights :(

call me old fashioned but all smiles with his Polish mates from Szcz after the final whistle irritates the hell out of me.
Flamini will probably come back in for the big games. Let's not be too negative anyhow. Not many sides in the PL as good as Dortmund. You make a mistake against them, you go a goal down.
I think we can beat Liverpool. I don't think we'll beat Chelsea. We can beat Napoli and we have to.

How the f**k did Lewandoski stay on the pitch to score the winning goal after an elbow in the face. It wasn't even accidental, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Agreed.
Disappointing game all around. Thought Giroud was good, and Santi coming on could easily have swung it our way but we were very poor in the first half and didn't really deserve a win. A point would have been nice though.

And while the two of you decide to focus on arteta, you totally ignore ozil who was by far THE worst player on the pitch tonight.......by a country mile

Hate to say it but we really really miss wallys pace in these kind of games
it was almost a carbon copy of the WBA game

no pace no urgency

Frustrated in the manner we lost tonight. Went for the win when we were on top and ended up losing. Annoying but hardly a disaster after our wins vs. Marseille and Napoli.

Shame really as a draw would have been ok, but never mind. All of a sudden, a tough group just got tougher :?

I suppose the team thought we're dominating, we win this then the fixture list coming up doesn't look so daunting and we don't have to get a result away other than at Marseille. I don't blame us for going for the win. I do blame the lack of cover at the back though, happens way too often against good opposition

Agree with that - something that changes a game and we do not have the options at the moment. Love him or loathe him Walcott has an impact in these CL games coming off the bench for 20 mins and we don't have any other explosive pace options without him around.

A squad with a collection of attacking midfielders got found out for what it was - unable to close out a game against a top class team and all the same vulnerabilities of the past few years

Not sure about that... Think he, jack and ramsey all had pretty bad games. He was anonymous though.

Reus was anonymous too for them. Ozil is clearly tired. Already.

I must have missed Arteta trying to dribble the ball away from his own goal for the first or failing to cut out the left sided cross for the second
