The ticket thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

getting away tickets from the club

Post by hut160 »

I am a red member and want to see more away games , but its impossible to do that with red membership, so a few questions
who has preference?
season ticket holders ?( are they the same as gold members?), I presume they have preference over silver over red?
I also read about members with credits , how do you get those, I presume the more credits you have the better chance of getting an away ticket. Can someone explain the credit/points system
and finally how do you become a travel club member?
where do under 16s come in to the equation do they have an advantage?
sorry lots of questions, can someone please help
Andrew

Yep you are correct re the order of preference and gold members are season ticket holders. The points are effectively quite simple in that you gain points on your account for attending away games. The tricky bit is you can only get away game tickets if you have points - in most cases and you only get points by going away. With only a few thousand tickets available for most away games and the core of away fans being regular away fans, it is difficult to build up points on one's own ticket.

The away scheme folk have an allocation of 1500 or so tickets before others so it is a long road to build up ones points but can be done. meanwhile, ask on forum like this or get to know afriendly member with a sackful of points on their ticket.

As a red you need to start from the bottom. You can get tickets for the likes of Stoke, Wigan, Bolton, Sunderland etc, the less glamorous games with a long journey basically. Bizarrely as a red, you do actually receive an away credit for each ticket you buy but they are worthless until you become a gold member.

Or you can chance your luck on here, twitter etc for tickets to the "bigger" games...

thanks for reply, thought it was something like that, I have a contact who is a season ticket holder who doesn't go to away games so I guess I could ask him to apply for me. When you have points do they just grow and grow , so that if you go to a lot of games you get more priority,or are they taken away for more prestigious matches??
are they transferable from member to member??

SteveO35 not sure I get your drift
Denilson does any body miss him??!

nope, not transferrable I'm afraid. many folk use a n others tickets I believe (maybe) (not that that is the right thing to do) (nor should it be advised)(at all) (if indeed it does happen) (which it doesn't... perhaps)

He was alright....but the sense of humour police banned him.....so be warned before you even think about saying how much you'd like Arshavin back as captain :D

I'm a red member and I currently have 6 away points, however when I emailed the club last year I was told that away points do not count for red members and I would be unable to ever get on the away scheme as it was indefinitely closed, the person I was emailing actually got quite rude about it all. It frustrates me because I would prefer to go to more away games than home games

Anyone have any idea how long the average wait it is to go from red to silver? I also have a couple of away points which are useless as Im a red member. Luckily get tickets for most games off this site.

I'm a little confused that's all as I am new to all of this :rubchin:
Here's how it works mate:

You're born
You poo in your nappies
You say you're first word, one that your Mum or Dad believe is "Mum" or "Dad", but is actually more like "glaruwwv"
You start to support Arsenal
You're old enough to get people to pay for Arsenal things for you
You become old enough to buy Arsenal things yourself.
You give you're bank account details to Arsenal
You have no money left in your bank account
You look back and wonder, "was it worth it?"

It was.

:barscarf: it certainly is

One more question. What time does the website go live on the day that tickets are released
Thanks

Hut, if you ring up the ticket box office they are quite helpful with info.
Don't ring when tickets are on sale unless you like listening to deafening renditions of Henry's goals in your ear for 1/2 hour
I was also told that they aren't looking at any away memberships as the allocation is full but that might change.
Best bet could be on here or Twitter (which I don't know how to use  )
