As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Gone are those lightening dashes and he certainly doesn't show for passes as much as he should do if he is hoping to make an impact and show how good he is - if he is just trying to avoid making mistakes rather than be pro-active then his time in Madrid will be brief. I know a lot of Gooners want him to fail but personally I am hoping that he is a big success - if he flops then the scum fans will be revelling in the fact that they got huge money for him when he wasn't worth it, but if he succeeds then the rest of us can argue that they made a huge mistake and under-valued him
I just don't think he is ever going to be as effective there. Not unlike Liam Neeson in Taken he has a very particular set of skills, albeit not for hunting/killing. At Spurs he was the main man, he had no real positional responsibility and whenever they got the ball he was the first player they looked for, their play basically revolved around working the ball to him in space. Also even the shit teams in the league generally wouldn't sit back against Spurs so they had plenty of scope to counter-attack which played into his hands. Madrid aren't going to change their style to maximise his return and week in week out he's going to come up against teams putting everyone behind the ball and camping in their own third. He's not good enough to skip past 3 or 4 players in a tight space like a Ronaldo or even a quality conventional winger, the beauty of his game at Spurs was the simplicity of kicking the ball into the space behind the full-back and beating him to it.
He'll still score goals and I don't think he will be a complete flop but not even the most moronic pundit will be suggesting he's the 3rd best in the world from now on.
I accept what you are saying nb, but the fact remains that he doesnt appear to want the ball most of the time. Even the most simple and obvious runs are being ignored by him - the time ladyboy got injured crossing from the left wing, the ball went to the back post and there was no sign of the monkey and everyone knows that the winger is supposed to be at the back post for those crosses but he hid at the edge of the box rather than going full pelt to the back post
Nice to see shitty have worked out how to make Lloris look silly with his constant rushing out the way he does....just keep dinking the ball over his head.
I know cheering on the plastics does feel a bit dirty.
Ideal result 3-3, a couple of injuries and sendings off.
Both defences look a bit iffy, there will be more goals in this for both sides
Pure comedy gold at the Etihad. Is this the wonderful defence we've heard so much about? Dawson makes Bendtner look mobile, and the world's most overrated CDM Sandro is being shown up for the one paced kicking machine that he really is
Not to worry - Greedybarndoor to the rescue !
Lets all laugh at Tottnum.....lets all laugh at Tottnum
That sandro is a dirty c*unt and along with walker is the most despicable pr*ck on that scum team
Older fans like myself use to slate ray Wilkins for his sidewards passing and in recent years denilson has taken over that "skill" but fcuk me they look positively creative compared to holtby who has constantly passed backwards
I can never understand how aguero is never spoken about in a discussion about the best players in world football He was a great player at ath Madrid and has improved even more at citeeh

Agree on all of the above. Aguero is absolutely magnificent isn't he - speed, amazing upper body strength, work rate, finishing ability, dribbling, first touch......he's absolutely 100% the real deal. Fantastic footballer and along with Suarez the two stand out strikers in the league
