Marseille

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

This game is dire, we are dire and if we don't up the f**king tempo and string 2 f**king passes together we will be hanging on to a 1-0 led against a not very impressive Marseille.

Ozil off his game today, not judging just by lame penalty, he's just not that Ozil. Maybe Wenger's training already started to affect him?
Put Santi on.

It should be over and out by half time. 3 or 4:0 any peacefully waiting for napoli to score with a keg of beer closeby.

This game sums up everything that I detest about this fucking boring Group stage

Marseille already out.....the game already as good as over.....and they still have one meaningless game (for them) left after this.

Please can we go back to a straight knock out format.

Marseille have been utterly disgraceful in this. This is supposedly the elite competition in European football and they have picked a side and an approach that I would be shocked to see in a League Cup game

I don't think Giroud should take pens. Vastly vastly improved this year but still not a finisher and I'm not convinced he's particularly composed from that sort of range.

Was a piss-poor penalty mind. Ozil is effortlessly comfortable and shifts the ball around with absolute ease. But that's all he is at the moment: comfortable. He's not going to sweat his bollocks off chasing balls all around the pitch and diving into tackles (and nor would I want him to) but his body language still isn't that encouraging. Doesn't seem to be particularly enjoying his football.

Has been a fairly lazy performance but I'm not worried - they're piss-poor and I no longer feel like we're always on the verge of capitulating when we're only a goal ahead
