As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Don't expect anything from the club. Was over for the Bolton game a few years ago that got called off coz of snow on the day of the match. Our club offered to refund Bolton fans for out of pocket expenses but no refund available for any of us Gooners who were out of pocket

It is ticket office workers who are "losing" their jobs, not the drivers this time.
Except as far as I can tell, they are not losing their jobs but instead are being moved out of the ticket office and onto the gates and platform with ipads so they can give advice on how to use the ticket machines.
The public loses out if that happens, because more problems will then have to be dealt with by call centres.
Personally I do not enjoy phoning a call centre and waiting in a queue whilst listening to a recorded voice telling you that "If you want to resolve your issue, please feel free to look at www.tfl.govuk", whilst you are thinking "If I was able to resolve my problem online, I would not be phoning you!"

Wonder if it will be postponed, like our Boxing Day games have been over the years?
Update: LBC Radio's website now pondering the same question: "Arsenal's key Premier League game against Manchester United on 12th February is now in danger of being postponed, with 60,000 fans unable to get to The Emirates Stadium."
I was over for the manure game in highbury many moons ago when wrighty decided that he was gonna break the red nose racists legs ( ) - on the way to the game that night, the tube broke down and we all get off god knows where and had to walk (for what appeared to be miles ) the rest of the way. That game was also played on a midweek night and it absolutely pissed down rain all night long
I was at the same game, as you said pissing down and crowds pouring out onto streets with no idea where to go. I remember seeing one guy going up to a taxi driver and asking what direction Highbury was and the driver replying " why don't you just take a taxi mate"

Yeah I read the plans and have to say doesn't strike me as a phenomenally good idea. Although it does seem to be largely driven by genuine attempt to reform and adapt to modern-day needs rather than just a massive cost-cutting exercise.
This isn't the most ridiculous reason that Tube workers have had to strike but again their first instinct is just throw down tools and go on strike because they know the pain in the arse it causes. You can cite employment law and the protection of the right to strike but imo to suggest your employer is unreasonable and unscrupulous and then trying to turn around and bully them into caving by disrupting millions of people's journeys basically every year by striking is hypocrisy.
It's all a conspiracy I tell ya!
Man United have paid all of the tube workers to strike so that the game can be postponed until Van Persie is fit again .

I'd still want to go to it when it was rearranged but don't really want to pay the rip off fees to the airline, sometimes if you give them a sob story they might be nice

Any idea if the tube strike will be cancelled or when they will announce if the game is to be changed.
I would also like to know this.
Should the strike go ahead there is no way the game will stay on it's current date, but is there a chance the game will be brought forward, or just back? How far will the game be moved? Just a couple of days/weeks or to the last fixture of the season?
This will be a bit of a nightmare if it goes ahead, but there is usually a limited service on many lines in the event of a strike and there will be buses. Just leave extra time to get to and from the stadium.
I appreciate it's a bit easy for me to say this when I only live a few miles away.
