What a wonderfully well thought through model......about as enforceable as FFP
So if I buy a flat and it sits empty do I have to hand it back to someone?
If I don't park a car in my garage are the mortgage company going to come and re-possess it?
All it says to me is that ST holders find some games as fucking boring as I do (not mentioning the rows of empty seats for those oh so exciting Group stage games in the CL)
They can pick and choose freely who they sell STs too provided that they abide by the terms and conditions of the purchase agreement for the ST. If they write this provision into the next renewal I don't see why they wouldn't be able to enforce it.

Because if you buy or rent something then it is up to you how you use it - as steve o (and many others) have pointed out, if you buy or lease property or vehicles then nobody can force you to use them a certain percentage of the time
Exactly Augie. I presume they would also apply the same logic to the corporates who might not use their pre-paid exec boxes every week.......of course not
The club have taken your money in advance for a year. Say you were ill for three months and unable to attend? What about if you travel from distance and a whole bunch of games get re-arranged for a week night? Tube strike and can't be arsed with the hassle? Absolutely unenforceable.
Why don't we go the whole hog and say if you don't stand up for 90 mins shouting 'stand up if you hate Tottnum' you'll get your tickets removed

They can if you're renting something and you agree to those terms from the outset.

Erm no it isn't. It is up to the agreement pursuant to which you buy/rent.
If people are insistent on using very tenuous analogies then fine, can you use one season ticket to admit two people as long as they both squeeze onto the one seat that you bought? No, because the terms of the agreement don't allow it, they specify that the season ticket only admits one person. And you have to abide by those terms that you've agreed to.
SteveO since when did something being unfair make it unenforceable? If Arsenal insert it into a clause into the ST agreement for next season specifying that they can forfeit the ticket of anybody that misses X games and you sign on the dotted line what law are you relying on to challenge it?

Since the justice system in this country came into being ! A company can't just stick anything into a set of Ts and Cs and expect the law of the land to turn a blind eye. Haven't banks and building societies been fined a king's ransom for doing just that?
Someone has paid for something a year in advance. Even they thought they could enforce it which I would dispute, the bad publicity and legal wrangles it would cause would be 'off brand' and the club would not do it
Pieces of legislation like UCTA are generally harder to enforce than they should be and such a clause would be so well-publicised I imagine people would have a very tough time wriggling out of it given that watching a PL football team is a luxury - not like they're being forced out of their home or being exploited under duress by pay-day lenders.
Anyway agree it would never happen - our club undoubtedly does care more about money than anything else so as long as it's coming in they're happy. And I doubt any of our noble counterparts - the exalted German football fan - would dare miss a single minute of a match all season.
