Fabianski - Leaving

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

No, but he did post something about why he's not on here as much and I've been half expecting a smoothy-style ego massaging "should I stay or should I go" thread.

Flappy the Clown is going and with that goes the only remotely tangible reasons that somebody may wish to select him, I will be incandescent if Wenger plays him on Sunday.

With Bayern on Wednesday night he 100% will play Flappy. Why would he put out his best available 11 to try and win the ONLY trophy we have ANY chance of winning this season when he has a game against a team that will comfortably beat us no matter what team we put out, in a competition we have a fart's chance in a tornado of winning and - oh, hang on...

He won't have trouble finding a club after that display.

I was worried watching that match that AW might give him a new contract. Good performance (minus 1 flappy moment).

He had a good game today, and generally deputised well at the back end of last season. But let's not pretend he would be remotely reliable over a reasonable period of time if required - he has shown before he is a coward and an absolute calamity under crosses and high balls.

My memory of past games is pretty shite but for the last season and a half in the few games he's had I cant remember him being too bad tbh. Certainly nowhere near the useless jamrag he was before then. And you're rarely, if ever, gonna have a top quality 2nd choice keeper for long. You only have to look at how long, for all their money, the chavs had Hilario as 2nd choice, and the fact they're probably gonna have to choose between Courtois or Cech this summer, rather than being able to have both in their squad.

Cant say I'll lose any sleep whatsoever over Flappy moving on though. Not that bad an option as 2nd choice, but easily replaceable.
