Bayern Home

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just hope it's as successful as those flags against the mancs that time

But I also say fair play to RedAction. I know we all take the piss out of them (some more than others augie!! ) but card displays and flags are what the big Euopean nights should be about. 8)

Yeah! That AND winning the game! :D

I have noticed a trend that when any english teams play in the CL - (on two separate nights) the first nights results are usually (I said usually!!!) opposite to the following nights, so <fingers crossed, spit three times and set fire to a scum fan!> - If manc $hitty lost at home we perhaps could win !

Yeah I know grasping at straws etc etc but hey ! Let's be Positive(ish) - or freakishly crazeeeeee ! :-P

Pravda are bigging up two of the virtual trophies in tonight's match preview :

Bayern clung on but Arsenal would kick on, overturning a seven-point deficit on Tottenham and qualifying for the Champions League for a 16th successive season. This is their 12th straight campaign in the knockout stages; not even Wednesday’s opponents can match that record

Yes but they have won it a fair few times. I know what I'd rather have :rubchin:

There was a time that comments like that from pravda (and some Gooners it should be said) used to embarrass me but now I expect nothing less from the small time pathetic losier mentality c*nts - actually in hindsight maybe the comments do still embarass me

TONIGHT'S MATCH v BAYERN MUNICH - REMINDER

REDaction have been working with Arsenal to organise a card display for the Bayern game – covering the whole stadium with red and white cards. These are not cheap to organise, but they look fantastic when they work. The success depends on people being in their seats in good time before kickoff. Make sure you are in your seat by 7:35, ready to turn the stadium red and white when the players come onto the pitch. To help make the card display look as good as it can be, REDaction are asking everybody to do three things:

Get yourself into your seat by 7:35pm.

Remind all your friends, both in person and via social media, that they need to do the same!

When you leave the pub to get to the stadium, bring as many people with you as possible

Most people say they want a fantastic atmosphere in our stadium. Here is a great opportunity to achieve exactly that – but it needs YOU. Most of the action will be around the players coming out, and during the Champions League anthem. Keep hold of your cards, and re-use it if we score – when Bayern are taking the kickoff. This has been done at grounds in Europe and South America before, but would be a first for a ground in the UK.

Hope it goes well, but with the amount of people that turn up 10 minutes late it could go a little pear shaped

At the risk of sounding like a f-cking misery, this sort of thing leaves me cold. Why are we copying this continental shite?

Okay it may look spectacular but for how long? 30 seconds? A minute at the most I’d say!

And it doesn’t look quite so spectacular if you’re in the ground as the piece of card you're being made to hold up is blocking your view.

And how exactly does it generate atmosphere? When the game starts the cards with be crumpled up on the floor and getting walked all over (a bit like the team I expect  ).

Waste of time and effort in my opinion. But not as bad as those cringe worthy clapper things that were inflicted on us a few years back.

FFS. It's only 10 pm now and the beers have been flowing all day. I spent the whole day on the beach , in 37 degrees I and am burnt like a survivor of Hiroshima.

No floods and misery here, you will be glad to here.

so this card thing when the players walk out

in the stadium you wont see anything because you are holding a card up...
and if you are watching on TV they will cut to an advert break at that point ...

I was just about to point out that they would also be held up when Bayern kick-off after we score, but...

I'm all for this sort of thing at the game, but I understand the views of those who will find it nothing more than an annoyance as well. I have no doubt it will look amazing if it comes together though :barscarf:

Yeah, it's just silly the amount of people who don't turn up until 10 minutes after kick-off. When I go, I usually end up in the ground at least 30mins before kick-off. How can people seriously enter the ground so late, especially at the prices Arsenal charge  .

Even worse is those people who don't turn up at all :banghead: . At least put your seat on exchange for a fan who gives a fuck to use :box:

Just hope we don't start like a bunch of drunks like we usually do these days. Get at them from the off and keep tight at the back.
