Re: The coup de grace in Munich

Regardless of how I view the importance/irrelvance of tonight's game, I have to admit that the everton game allied to the wigan v citeeh game has left me emotionally shattered and I cant even focus on tonight's game  I know that I wasn't playing in the game but Saturday's cup game was so fcuking important and winning it created such a high (not a hlebby artificial high either  ) and after every high there is a low and that is where I'm at right now. I cannot believe that we are playing again so soon cos it feels like the everton game only finished 5 minutes ago

Anyway I will watch tonight's game without an emotional attachment and will view it as a hinderance more than anything else  Like many others, my concern tonight centre's around potential injuries rather than the result itself - of course if we get an early goal that might change slightly but even if we did pull off a minor miracle tonight, I still don't see winning this competition as a real possibility so winning tonight will do nothing except create more games in which our players could get injured

If Bayern turn up tuned in tonight then I foresee a 3-1 beating but if they turn up lax then I could see us drawing 2-2

Two things we need from tonight :-

1) No injuries
2) Keep the Momentum with a good performance, any sort of win will do us the world of good, whether its enough to get through or not, just need to start getting a run together.

9 times out of 10 the result is we go out, but it was in '89 as well - it COULD be a very famous night - but the il take the points above as a decent nights work.

They give trophies for that now??!!

:-P

Don't get excited. From what Mrs DB10 told me last time I was a mere 8 inches into her, you'd never win it anyway.

Yeah, she said you'd tried to insert one of your little legs in there alright. I also don't think she bought your excuse of "who needs a penis - leg-sex is how all us ewoks do it!"

I only told her it was a leg so she didn't feel quite so let down by you

She only knew it was your leg after you told her! At first she was convinced it was your thumb.

It's quite funny that so much of what we do is for the benefit of getting into the champions league yet every year these are the games that the fans seem to care the least about. Who gives a fuck? We're not good enough to win it and even if we get close to getting lucky the refs will intervene. Or that stupid away goals rule. The whole thing is so bent it makes the English leagues look squeaky clean.

I'll take any variant of a defeat as long as it isn't morale-crushing.

Is anyone on here actually going to watch the game :rubchin:

I would love us to win this 3-0 or 3-1, I know this is probably not going to happen but would still love it to.

It's a cup competition so anything can happen, the bin dippers won when they finished 5th in the PL so it can happen.

Here's hoping.
