Tottscum match thread.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

watched the reply 3 times & enjoyed all of them just the same. Majic result & I think someone said it would be 1 - 0 !!! to us. If 'X' had put away those first half chances he had I would still have some fingernails. Bring on Chel$ki minus the two 'Brazil nuts' in mid-field.

it was . very 1990's GG ish.
as i said, the back four worked as a unit.
no fun to watch but effing great to celebrate
Wtf do u mean not fun to watch ?

Under George Graham we would grind teams to the floor score, then lock the fucking door !

This was football as a science and a Joy to watch ,added bonus was that you could go for a piss roll a joint and shag a bint in the bogs once we were leading and know we wouldnt concede !

Agreed we cant have it all ways, we have in the past few years played blinding football and ending up drawing or losing. Arsenal forgot how to win ugly.

If we do win the title this will be wengers finest achievement imo. This side is the weakest under wengers tenure to mount a title challenge.

Nothing ugly about it ,was a manly excercise of people who would do anything to win for us and had the gumption and nous how to do it ,the turned defending into a science .

That and those crazy patterns the groundsman did at home games made the GG era almost surreal !

In some aspects it was a very GG like type of defensive performance (which very much pleases me 8) ) but in other ways it was anything but - back in the GG era we had a team working their bollox off defensively but yesterday we had an outstanding centre back partnership, and sagna who also played well defensively (gibbs was destroyed) but the midfield gave them fcuk all protection and cazorla in particular was shocking

It also needs to be said that back in the GG era he had them set up tactically to perfection but with wenker we are a shambles tactically - the substitutions, the team structure and the gameplan were an absolute mess and le cock is lucky that he has a leader on the pitch (BFG) who organises and talks to his team-mates throughout the game

I dont understand how Wenger can be lucky he has BFG - he bought him!

We are ravaged by injury - take the equivalents of Ramsey, Walcott, wilshere and Ozil away from any top side and they will struggle.

Injuries i think will ultimately cost us, but how can anyone be downbeat beating the scum - for the third time, wihtout conceding a goal.

£110m is a heafty price for 60% possession in one game and no shots on target.

Gibbs was destroyed cos he had Podolski in front of him.

If that was us vs Utd/Chelsea over the last few years everyone would be harping on about how we never threatened em really, just had a load of possession and flattered to deceive etc.

AW keeps doing it. We play against teams whose main threat is down the flanks and he gives the fullbacks fuck all protection. Right back from the 8-2 he's been doing it, and Pod and Santi are particularly ineffective.

I understand that, but how many of those players would have started yesterday and instead of who ? For me it would be the very same as saying that you are citing the absence of 4 players all of which are centre backs when the reality is that only 2 of them would have been playing anyway - all 4 of the absent players are midfielders so at most 2 of them would have started (instead of podolski and ??).

Downbeat ?? I doubt if you will find a Gooner that is downbeat - backs to the wall is, for Gooners my age anyway, the traditional Arsenal (despite what many wenker era fans would have you believe  ) so from that regard everything was great but the concern for me was that we had some players that were absolutely abysmal and wenker could neither recognise that nor change it :x I have continually argued that this was THE season that we could, for all our weaknesses, have won that league - people can try and make bullshit excuses about the wealth of citeeh and the chavs but the reality is that, with a top striker and a tactically astute manager, that league was ours for the taking but as long as we have le cock in charge then we will never be all we can be :(

I think The Times have been using their random number generator to give out player ratings again, Santi got a 7 'fine all-round display' :? whilst BFG and Kos only got 6's.
