City match thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

on Tuesday night all he did was give the ball away.

Cazorla will be the first name on the team sheet.
You cant tell that from a brief cameo appearence though really Rob, he did at least manage to pass the ball at an angle of greater than 90 degrees several times, one pass was actually pretty good, long ball that could have put them under pressure if it had been controlled by a better header.

He does have some reputation for scoring from free kicks, we have been pi** poor at that this season.

Santi has given the ball away far far too often this season, been a real blot on his game :(
What Kallstrom will also offer is some defensive solidity. Something we need right now. Cazorla is knackered, maybe an introduction from the bench will help us if, and its a big if, the game is a close one. Plus Kallstrom is fresh and raring to go. Something needs to change.

I'm normally quite optimistic but we are gonna get flipped and roasted on Saturday. If I knew how to attach a clip of how a killer whale tosses a seal around before killing it I would, because that's what I'm expecting to happen. Any thoughts of clawing our way back into the title race is silly talk. It's the usual hanging onto 4th to close out the season.

When you score an own goal in the 90th minute in the manner we did against Swansea you just know it isn't your year.

It would just be the french fools luck for us to win this by an own goal or some other freakish accident, which of course would pave the way for him to make more claims that we are still in the title chase and that he could then (in his own addled mind) sign a new contract.

Oh feck ! let's face it we Gooner's are screwed either way.

Enough Is Enough..if the *word censored* is still at the club come August I will avoid all games till he's gone.

I just can't take any more of his pathetic excuses and senseless ramblings.

I have a feeling (I think that Flash posted this earlier) that we will get a result here. I'd agree that Wenger typically will get to the point of almost outright revolt and then turns it around - I think that this will be the same. I think that Aguero will be a big miss for them.

I'd go for an early Arsenal goal and a 2-2 draw.

I naively thought we stood a good chance against Liverpool and Chelsea away. This is at home I suppose and I'd be over the moon with a draw. On paper we look OK but if Arteta pops on his cement boots and Vermaelen plays roulette with his positioning we'll get butt-fucked.

I agree that this is how it usually works and how Wenger always wriggles out of too much criticism.
However having been to the match on Tuesday night I really don't see we have a chance tomorrow.

with no Koscielny the defence is weakened badly, there is little quality left in midfield and they are mostly knackered anyway and are striking options are just embarrassing. City need to win this - they won't go for a draw. They will see us as one of their easier away matches left this season

So am I, but I'm old enough to suddenly become very sober as the ticket goes in the machine. After that the alcohol will ease the pain of the likely hammering.
Looking forward to again seeing the 6'4" beast in midfield that apparently Wenger didn't think was good enough to sign a few years ago.

I think its called the Wenger affect, similar to the dopler affect only it really does fuck you up for good.

Even if Kallstrom was match fit he's getting on and used to playing in shit leagues. As it is he's not played a full game for about 6 months. Hardly going to come on and grab the game by the scruff of the neck but I wasn't as taken in by his pinging long balls and moreover not by him trying (and failing) to hack down a winger on the edge of our box or by his willingness to stand watching Britton waltz through unmarked.

If you're expecting this guy to offer any sort of defensive solidarity against the likes of Toure and Silva/Nasri I think optimistic would be a huge understatement.

For how much longer can Wenger continue to us the legend of Thierry Henry as his get out of jail card? The friendly with NY Red Bullshit was soon trotted out in an attempt to get the fans back onside, deflect from the utter crap we are being served up right now and used as an under hand way to announce that the one who knows best will remain at the helm next season, despite his obvious failings.

Henry may well be a legend at the club, but like most legends, it was a long time ago now.

As much as I would love a win against Citeh I fear it will be another drubbing.

Can't see how The Deluded One will pull us out of the inability to get results against the 3 top teams.

How many of our entire playing squad would even get a 'look in' at Schitty ?. Me thinks none. Nuf said. 0 - 3 & lets hope Wigan get a few players rubbed out to give us a shout in the cup.
