In the past couple of weeks it's been said to me by supporters of Liverpool, Everton, Manure and Man City that Arsenal should've been walking the league given our position in February, and they can't believe or understand why wenger never signed players in January to strengthen the team. The reason why I mention this is it is not just people on here who criticise wenger it's our main rivals supporters that could see it. They all say it whilst laughing which makes it all the more humiliating...

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
I notice from the writer's bio he proudly states that he's been a writer on all things Arsenal since 1996 (no doubt the year in which the club was formed in his mind. Highly original line from an AKB:
We now have the money to compete with the big boys thanks to his prudence and patience over the past nine years. He alone deserves at least one season to benefit from it.
What a cock end - Wenger has already said he'd give 100m back to an owner so this shite about deserving one year to spend it (and a World Cup year at that when we know all about 'artificial prices') is as unbelievable as it would be to the writer that pre-1996 there was a club called Arsenal and they actually won things
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Come on SteveO, don't you know that now we've got over £100m nicely stashed in the bank Arsene is gonna change his entire mindset, philosophy and attitude from the past decade and start splashing the cash like it's going out of fashion?SteveO 35 wrote:I notice from the writer's bio he proudly states that he's been a writer on all things Arsenal since 1996 (no doubt the year in which the club was formed in his mind. It's a total nonsense claim, as you point out. The man is stubborn, egotistical and doesn't like spending money. This is a guy who has said he would happily do away with the transfer window, and we're suddenly supposed to trust him with £100m?!
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
If ever he did spend 100m we could look forward to the equivalent of 10 Gervinho's or 8 Giroud's to save us from dizzying pricesDan_85 wrote:Come on SteveO, don't you know that now we've got over £100m nicely stashed in the bank Arsene is gonna change his entire mindset, philosophy and attitude from the past decade and start splashing the cash like it's going out of fashion?SteveO 35 wrote:I notice from the writer's bio he proudly states that he's been a writer on all things Arsenal since 1996 (no doubt the year in which the club was formed in his mind. Fun fact, he used to be a she going by the alias 'Lady Arse' on twitter. MUFC - sack a manager after nine months of failure
AFC - offer a manager a new contract after nine years of failure, says it all really

and this is the problem - there is no ambition at Arsenal anymore.BFG4 wrote:MUFC - sack a manager after nine months of failure

to be fair to Wenger he is achieving what the board want him to achieve - and that is a top 4 finish every season.
If we appointed a new manager he would be under no pressure to win anything either, and although it would be preferable to see Wenger leave I don't think we will suddenly see a return to competing for the title anytime soon whoever is in charge.

The accounts show that we've had £100m in the bank for three windows - when we have signed Ozil, flamini (free), sanogo, viviano and Kallstrom (free).
He's had his 'one more year to spend big' twice over.

Ah yes. but next year will be different, won't it ?clockender1 wrote:The accounts show that we've had £100m in the bank for three windows - when we have signed Ozil, flamini (free), sanogo, viviano and Kallstrom (free).

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
You're right it will be different as its World Cup year. In Summer 2010 we let 11 players leave and signed 5 including Squillachi, Chamakh (free), Ebecillio and Philip Roberts ??? The only player we signed of note was Koscielny.StuartL wrote:Ah yes. but next year will be different, won't it ?clockender1 wrote:The accounts show that we've had £100m in the bank for three windows - when we have signed Ozil, flamini (free), sanogo, viviano and Kallstrom (free).

If Lord Wenger stays this window will be even more disappointing than the others as its long been quoted as being the one where the benefits of the new commercial deals are effectively banked (even if all the cash hasn't arrived from them).....and he'll still be fiddling around in the bargain bucket at the eleventh hour whilst Mourinho, Pellegrini, United's new manager and Rodgers will have their business done before a ball is kicked in Brazil
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Lady Arse, probably the worst person on Twitter. I remember when I first signed up I followed her, then unfollowed within about an hour. Just an endless torrent of moronic stupidity.MrT wrote:Fun fact, he used to be a she going by the alias 'Lady Arse' on twitter.
