In the past couple of weeks it's been said to me by supporters of Liverpool, Everton, Manure and Man City that Arsenal should've been walking the league given our position in February, and they can't believe or understand why wenger never signed players in January to strengthen the team. The reason why I mention this is it is not just people on here who criticise wenger it's our main rivals supporters that could see it. and this is the problem - there is no ambition at Arsenal anymore.
to be fair to Wenger he is achieving what the board want him to achieve - and that is a top 4 finish every season.


If we appointed a new manager he would be under no pressure to win anything either, and although it would be preferable to see Wenger leave I don't think we will suddenly see a return to competing for the title anytime soon whoever is in charge.

You're right it will be different as its World Cup year. In Summer 2010 we let 11 players leave and signed 5 including Squillachi, Chamakh (free), Ebecillio and Philip Roberts ??? The only player we signed of note was Koscielny.

If Lord Wenger stays this window will be even more disappointing than the others as its long been quoted as being the one where the benefits of the new commercial deals are effectively banked (even if all the cash hasn't arrived from them).....and he'll still be fiddling around in the bargain bucket at the eleventh hour whilst Mourinho, Pellegrini, United's new manager and Rodgers will have their business done before a ball is kicked in Brazil
