CL Semis 2nd Leg

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yup after 2 bore fests of first games that was a great game  - That free kick from Ronaldo was exceedingly crafty- much as I hate his rolling around and playing for Manure he really must be the best player of the past decade

I think that manure's performances against bayern should have told us all we needed to know about the level bayern are at this season.

The group stages are drudgery to say the least, and our continuous failures in the early knock out rounds drive us to hating the competition , but when it reaches nights like last night you want to be there...
Anyway we have to get fourth because we are in the Cup Final...if we fail to win VT the only way to avoid football on ITV4 on a Spursday Night would be to lose the Cup Final.
Just all like club level football - group stage = borefest

Only works for international tournaments because they are few and far between.........3 months long group stage kills would could be an exciting competition from the start if it was an open draw like the FA Cup. That day will never come though

Was thinking exactly that, I was unimpressed with them against utd and with a bit of luck and better finishing the mancs would have beaten them.
Bayern have quite few players in the latter stages of their careers, si it will be interesting to see hoe Giggsy erhh I mean Guardiola  addresses this or indeed if he will hang around at all. or jump ship like he did at the whores.

Praying Simeone and his boys do a job on these C**** tonight!

Couldn't stand them to be in the final and possibly win it again.

Few random thoughts...

- I'm glad Real went through, as I don't trust Bayern one iota. They've already gifted Man Utd and Chelsea CL wins in the last 15 years, and I have zero faith that they wouldn't have bottled it against Chelsea once again.

- If Chelsea do get to the final, and Real play as they did last night, they stand absolutely no chance.

- Even at 3-0 down, Bayern's support was still better than ours when we're 3-0 up.

Is it just me though their "support" of drums bashing gets kindof tedious after 10 minutes  . Rather like the Palace fans :banghead:

No, fail in the cup and the VT and we'd be dumped in the Europa for coming 5th.

Atmosphere - Emirates on a CL group stage night. Yuk.
Drama - The drama of coasting through the group stages each year to get bumfucked.
Quality - Show this for 1 or 2 games in the group stages.

The CL latter stages might be immense if we were in with a shout. Not really much enjoyment when you're sat at home holding your cock for the last 13 matchdays or whatever it is now that there's a game on virtually every week.

Its a bit like owning a horse in the Grand National the drama the atmosphere we jump the first few fences then we get to Beechers and fall.It happens every year

As soon as that draw is made for the knockout stage every Gooner knows were out.As long as we keep sneaking in to it in 4th place nothing ever will change at our club.CL means Wenger stays :banghead: :banghead:
