I wouldn't be adverse to signing him but it would come with a caveat: he can't be the
only striker we sign, we need someone superior to be first choice.
Vela and Sanchez - that would be immense. We'd score hatfuls and be exciting to watch again.
Against everybody but the best.
I know he has gotten better and we could do with thrashing more also rans but if we still lose to the big boys away from home because our striker is a flat track bully, then we have not moved forward at all.
We can afford to buy a striker that is above the good level. We either buy an up and coming one like a Griezmann who's rawness might startle other clubs.....and no I don't mean the Postman type rawness.
Or we say f**k it pay 60-70million for the top level. We can afford the Zlat's wages so why not.
Falcao maybe realizes playing in front of 5000 people at home that spend most of their time wondering what time they can moor their super yacht in the Harbour is not that fun.
Cavani, why not.
Even Costa, might not yet be a done deal, why not just slap 50million in front of them at worst they say no but they make the chavs pay more and possibly start a bidding war, at best Maureen and the Russian get f**ked off that because of us they are being messed about and pull out. We end up with an old fashioned English striker, that can bully, lead the line, hold the ball up and score a decent number of goals.
Costa will be a Suarez in his first season as in, decent number of goals but keeps being done by refs because let's face it he is a dirty little f**ker that makes Shearer look like an altar boy. But then he will learn to box clever and I think will seriously thrive in our league with naïve defenders who are no longer used to that type of striker. Even chavvy Terry who's a bit old school was flummoxed by Costa.
I wouldn't touch any from the dutch league as there tend to me more Afonso Aves from there than Bony's.
We should make a statement and buy a proper striker but I think Vela will be the height of our ambitions.
120 million in the bank
50million on a top level striker
3million on Vela
10million on Calum Chambers/Serge Aurier aka baby Sagna
5million on David Marshall from Cardiff
15million on Schneiderlin
Lescott/Richards as back up on a free.
As a punt,be tempted to get Patrick Roberts from Fulham and Obita from Reading and loan them back to their clubs for experience
If we can't properly challenge with that then we need a new manager.
