The story of Fortuna Cologne

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arseofcrow were u there in 1996 ,it was the year we were founded as a PLC so many missed it !

There were 3 sections in the ground ,BMG Arsenals and KOLN !

I got severely wasted on restricted chemicals, natural herbs and beer before the game and ended up with some forest woodcutter looking types from gladbach who took me into their bit then tried to turn on me like their scouse pals once inside !

Afterwards the OB couldn't understand why a mob of 500 Koln and Arsenal were walking down the road together in harmony and onto the trams for another night of drunken debauchery !

We lost on agg and there was a hoo ha over wasted time and ball boys who where instructed to not return the ball to us

I stayed by choice in a wooden hut hotel on the river called the lowenbrau hotel juts for the beer ,had a great time !

Cathedral could do with some renovation though its worse than coventrys

Yes, it does happen. Wrong place, wrong time and all that. Whether they just tried it on us as non Germans I really don't know but one minute they were singing along to the FC Koln songs they were playing in the bar (on a Wednesday night) then when we left they got up, followed us out and started knocking ten piles of shit out of us. Took us by surprise anyway as apart from that the Kolners were absolutely fine. Then we later find out that we were in the supposed student quarter as well!

I was there at the old stadium in 96, altho I wasnt living in Germany at the time. We were in the Gladbach end.

That hotel's still there.

And the Cathedral is spectacular and is undergoing constant renovation, as per your instructions

Sounds like you were in a shithole of a pub. So, after careful consideration and looking at all the facts, I conclude that it's all your own fault.
