I'm not an Ozil hater but on the basis of his World Cup I would not be in a hurry to part with 42 large to sign him if he wasn't already on the books. He a luxury item in a team missing so much of the basics, if we sign the players in the positions we need then we will be able to indulge his lethargic performances but otherwise we'll end up playing a lot of games with the equivalent of ten men.

Fair play to the Germans, they deserved it, best world champs in a long, long time. As for the Argies, they can fuck off & and take that fucking 'malvinas' banner with em. :lol: 8)

But, he hasn't dribbled past five players before whacking a screamer in from 30 yards yet. So, y'know, he's shite.
I would have settled for seeing him dribbling past one player and then at least attempting a shot rather than what's becoming the usual lack-lustre performance he put in!! :oops: :oops: Still, I know it has now become a fad to say you don't/can't appreciate football if you dare criticise a supposedly world class player - even when their performances don't live up to reputation!! :roll:

I'm one that thinks Ozil has a lot to prove but if you really watch the game again he does gos past quite a few players, stop smoking for 5 minutes dude :roll: :lol:

Don't know what the surprise is about Germans winning, they've always been good at getting a group of young men well trained and ready to conquer the World with their discipline, efficiency and brilliance :rubchin:
With 1918 and 1945 being the notable exceptions!! :wink: :lol: :lol: :wink:

Don't need to watch the game again - I saw the fecking thing first time!! :banghead: :banghead: :lol: Yeah he occasionally goes past a player, then turns back again or just lays it off 2 yards, usually to someone in a worse position!! :oops: Hardly the signs of a world class player or someone worth £42m!!

Like I said he needs to impress me more but 42 million is not that much nowadays :roll:

If messi went up for sail he would fetch at least 120 million and 500,000 a week in wages and he didn't pull up any trees tonight.

You expect too much :roll: :lol:

To the people questioning Özil's price tag and/or quality;

Back when we were all creaming ourselves over his signing, what did you think we were getting when we signed him? I thought we were signing an incredibly gifted midfield player who is extremely tidy on the ball, wastes possession very rarely and sees passes that hardly anyone else does (cue the big-eye jokes).

Now, although his work-rate has come under question, and I won't deny that his first season was by no means sensational, I can still see that he is a quality, quality footballer - and I think he showed it today in the final with some of his contributions.

So, did some of you think we were buying a marauding winger? Or did you think we were buying a 30 goal a season striker? Or were you just jizzing over the transfer fee?

Bender wasn't in the squad.

Pleased for our players who will come back tired but elated ,if they had lost it could have negatively affected them .

Other than that WTF was David Beckham thinking of having his boys in Argentina gear ,it will backfire on him very badly I think !

David Luiz in the team of the tournament. Can't think of a player who cost his team more.
