The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If he cut out the ehining and histrionics he would be given a lot of slack for having gone backwards. But as it is he should be a bench warmer for us or be a big fish for a mid table side. Englands and arsenals future cannot be built around him as pysically, mentally and brain wise he's not good enough I'm afraid to be a starter for a club of our supposed aspirations.

I agree Jack hasn't been at his best for some time now - But think part of that is down to his long term injury - and as yet he hasn't fully recovered physically and psychologically - It took Ramsey quite a while - admittedly his was a worse injury - But, any injury that keeps a player off the pitch - can be a real challenge.

I think he still has great potential - he definitely has the skills, but as to not knowing what he's supposed to be' is most likely down to wenger, who seems to give the players a lot of freedom in their postions - which is also part of Arsenal's strength, in that opposition often find it difficult to mark the players - as they don't adhere to the more recognised format of positional play etc

I am hoping he can sort himself out and become the excellent player we all think/thought he might be.

also: I think a parallel can be drawn between how huge responsibilty was placed on his shoulders when he began playing for England - seen as the future of the team - and whehn Walcott was taken to the WC by that wanker ericksson(sp?) far too soon...the fact he was taken and not used/played was NOT good for his self confidence etc...

ps: Have we signed anyone yet?

As much as I don't think Campbell is the be-all and end-all (at least not yet anyway) I'd deffo rather take a punt on him than bring in an attention seeking arsehole like Balotelli and his shit attitude. :x

Love it, last year it was Ramsey this year Wilshire.

What is it with you oirish gooners. Why dont we start looking at shitty paddy arsenal players. The first in a very long line is Eddie McGoldrick !
Christ. What the fuck is your major malfunction? Are you that mortally offended that not everyone thinks Jack is world class (yet anyway) that you resort to bringing nationality into it? Why?

Oh, and you do realise Ramsey is not English, right?
The French bashing goes largely unnoticed on here so I don't see why any reference to being Irish shouldn't just be ignored either.

What french bashing ? :? Is any french person being bashed on the basis of being french ? Not amazed that somebody would make an anti Irish comment but and surprised that some would choose to defend it :(

I would agree with you. Yes I know he is a total bombscare but the guy is a genuine game changer. Wenger is so busy talking up the memory of Henry in NY that he really needs to realise that TH14 is now a distant memory and we are now crying out for a quality goal scorer. If Mario came at a bargain price, I would take a punt on him.

The nationality of players, staff and posters is completely irrelevant. Can we please just drop this squabble.

Lads for Balotelli, I'd say just the opposite. He has no consistency in his game. He might win you one game with a stunning 30 yard volley in the 90th minute and then he might not hit the target again for 6 or 7 games or might go off in a huff because a paper printed a photo of his latest stupid attention-seeking stunt but didn't mention what a great lad we should all think he is.

Too much baggage, too much shit, not enough goals. No thanks from me. :|

Balotelli has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world. His nutty attitude hasn't reared its ugly head in Italy that I am aware of? Van Peruse was trouble when he first joined us and as he matured he mellowed, I think the same of Mario? He is also getting married, he may well of grown up.

I would take him.

I do, however, think that this is just another Mexes,Frei, Buffon thing.

By that logic, Sanogo is completely consistant in his game  :barscarf: :barscarf:

Am I the only one that liked Balotellis Bentley

Im warming to the idea of MArio- for one thing he will liven things up, and at least he ds hit the target. I also think he would play well under AW, bit like Anelka probably never played anything like as well elsewhere.
