The Pre-Season Friendly Games Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Any club would envy the amount of young talent we have

Ox
Wilshere
Campbell
Chambers
Ramsey
Szczesny

If you can't get excited about a future with that lot in the team I cannot help you!

Apparently they were so shite that Giroud would have scored 6 against this benfica side.

Giroud was running at 100% of his ability last season, he can play against the lesser teams, albeit with frustrations but he'll never trouble a good defence. Rather give Campbell more chances so he can improve and show us how good he can be.

I enjoyed Sanogo's dancing quite a bit.

Why the eff would you come out with such nonsense?

Why desperately seek attention for your deluded, controversial and clearly false opinion? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Not sure why people are having a pop at Campbell, they must have watched a different game to me.
He has a great attitude, was quick, strong, confident and took his goal well. Obviously not the finished article but raw talent with a lot of potential...yes he missed a couple of chances but I would put that down to inexperience and being maybe a bit too keen to impress. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get double figures next season.

We shouldn't go overboard about a pre-season friendly, but there were some encouraging signs. Rambo looked up to speed, Bellerin and Chambers did pretty well, Campbell showed some promise and Sanogo looked a bit more settled on the ball and his movement was decent. Even Coquelin looked to have bulked-up a bit.

I'm going to try not to get negative until there is good cause. At the moment our transfer business is much better than normal and pre-season is better than it often is. A top DM and the Summer will have been as good as could reasonably have been hoped.

I think this is a fair representation of what we can expect our lineup to be going in to the season.

It will be very interesting to see how Chambers gets on.
