Wich was so bloody obvious yesterday from the nature of our goals when they finally came, the stark opposite of what Ozil and Wilshere had been trying to do the previous hour in threading inch perfect balls through the middle. Sure, When Walcott is fit Giroud can be used as a hold up interplay forward, with Walcott and Sanchez running past him (when he gets his fitness). With Ozil feeding them (finally something for our 42m superstar do) that can work, as we saw at home lt season when Walcott was fit.
The key is that when that isn't working, we have to employ plan B a bit earlier than we did against Everton. Giroud is an top international quality player attacking crosses with his head and he's got a fair few that way with his feet too running toward the near post. If the tippy tappy shit isn't working (as it rarely does away from home) we need to get it out wide QUICKLY and be piling balls into the box QUICKLY for Giroud (plus whoever else) to be getting on the end of.
If I could rep this post on these boards I'd do it 1,000 times.
and this is precisely why so many are angry with Wenger.
I could think back to even, say, 3 years ago or so, when Bendtner would come off the bench with 12minutes left in the game and we'd start launching balls forward into the box in desperation mode when we were behind or tied late.
sometimes we'd score, and sometimes not, but what we did do was create chances, hit the woodwork, and cause havoc.
it was another dimension to our game, a change. It just doesn't seem like we have that. If ticky taka isn't working it's just our bad luck.
