In the away end..

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Bet you wont be the only non chav supporter in that sort of area.

Free ticket free booze and food- I would go for it myself, expect a dicking for the Arsenal though
Exactly, it's not like I'm sitting in the Shed whistling Good Old Arsenal!!
To be honest it's not so much the risk of a slap or 2, it's that he's a good bloke, hates John Terry and Mourinho with a passion and if I'm sussed then bang goes his ST.
But I know what I'm like watching The Arsenal and if the ball bounces off Giroud for the 18th time then 'YOU FUCKING DONKEY' will be released or if The Ox lets fly from nowhere and it arrows into the top corner, there's no way I'll be able to sit all prim and proper!

No, regardless of the safety aspect, I wouldn't do it purely because you'd be sitting there compressing your emotions - you can't enjoy the game like that.

Done it a few times now. Great if we win (I was in the Matthew Harding Stand for our 5-3 win) because you can see and hear their despair up close. Crap if we lose because you can see and hear their gloating.

In terms of the type of crowd, it pretty much the same as an Arsenal crowd, there are a few less non-white faces but not zero. At £60 a ticket football has been homogenised. They are as quiet, moany, and fickle as any bunch of fans.

Naturally he wants me to sit on my hands. As we'll prob get a pasting over there then maybe I won't have to worry about standing up at the wrong time but we all know you do things instinctively when you're a fan so......do I?!!
Should be no problem as long as you don't go round lording it up to the chavs. I sat in the main stand in 1991 when we lost 1-0, I was surprised at the amount of gooners that where in my area.

There prob wont be many gooners this season in their end, but given the average chelsea fan that pays £1k plus for a season ticket isn't your 2 brain celled brickie/builder type(more like sloane ranger), I wouldn't expect anything more for you than having to dodge a few vol au vents to preserve your dignity.

Erm... you do know when these arsehole hooligans are arrested many of them turn out to be lawyers and real estate agents, not just builders... :|

Fuck a prawn sandwich affair. Watch it in a pub with some gooners and have a few pints. If you lose at least youre amongst your own, if you win you can actually celebrate. The only time id consider going in the wrong end (oh aye!) would be for a cup final if i couldnt get a ticket any other way because if you win you'd want to know you were there to see it. A league (non title deciding) game though? No chance
