80K a week for someone that should be a back up, madness.

Excellent news. Using the trusted 'socialist' wage structure of paying 2-3 times what any other club in world football would that has served us so well in the last 7-8 years.

That ought to finally stop Bayern and Madrid knocking down our door about him.

If that is true (on one hand, it's the Mirror, on the other Wenger is a leetle bit mental) then it is absolutely ludicrous. I've been one of the few that consistantly defends Giroud against some of the more stupid comments about him on here but even I would say he is no where near worth £80K a week.

He does a decent job, holds the ball up and links up well, scores just about enough goals to justify selection, and he gives everything and would do even better in a proper 4-4-2 or even a 3-5-2 that played to his strengths, but for me he will never progress beyond second striker territory. He's PL average, no more or less. :|

I'm absolutely fuming that Wenger is giving this fucking useless *word censored* 80K a week and a further extension.... just to think that soon I'm hear his fucking song chanted again makes me feel sick to the stomach, I'd rather be fucking water-boarded than fucking hear it!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I can remember the outrage in the media when John Barnes was on about £10k a week at the Mousers and spent a few months out injured on full pay back in the late 80's (I think). The press nearly lost their minds!
