If we want to have a go at defending the FA Cup then he we need Ospina in goal.

Move him on.
Agree. What makes it worse is he's been our uncontested no.1 for 4 fucking years! :banghead:

Only Almunia rivals him for incompetence, but at least he wasn't such a dolt.
Well we've gone from Almunia conceding everything at his near post (inc. 40 yarders no less); through Flappy practically throwing the ball into his net to Szcz, who seems incapable of saving anything that isn’t within 4 inches of him.

Only at Arsenal.

For me he has stacks more ability than either of those clowns, enough to play at a decent level certainly. But he is just never going to cut it because of his attitude. It fucking stinks and it's criminal that he has been allowed to labour under the impression that he is good enough to have been protected as the unchallenged number one with no pressure on his place at a club the size of ours from about 20.

In the same way that Joe Hart must now be viewed as a calamity-prone keeper rather than a very good keeper with the penchant for the odd mistake, at this point you have to say that Szczesny is never going to be good enough because of his attitude rather than a potentially excellent keeper who needs to focus a bit more.

If we binned him he would not walk into the number 1 slot at a club anywhere near our size

The alarm bells have been sounding since he rushed out his area against Spurs a few seasons ago, since then he's just been a liability who believes his own myth.

Take a look at his penalty saves record, useless.

I wouldn't agree that he isn't PL standard - he is, and he has the raw potential to be one of the best around. However, he has suffered Bendtner style for being massively over rewarded long before he got close to realising that potential......and an already confident character can easily become one who is out of control in that situation. We had Average Al, Flappy and Mannone scratching around looking consistently shit before Chesney came along so we were all delighted that we found someone capable of doing his own shoelaces up without falling over.......but go back through these pages 4-5 years ago, and just as we were forever crying out for a CDM and CB we always craved a proper keeper too and nothing has changed. Singing more Joe Average shite like Viviano on loan only allowed Chesney to become even more arrogant and assured of his place

I hope Ospina does make it because Chesney needs a massive wake up call or face becoming another comedy figure like Bendtner.

Oh, and there's about as much chance of Chavski selling us Cech as there is Maureen inviting There's Only One round to Christmas dinner

Im really on the fence with this fella some of the saves he has made this year have been outstanding were on the other hand if it had been almunia there would be world war 3 by now

The keepers currently playing for the top 10 sides in the league -

Courtois is streets ahead of him
Hart, although no stranger to a calamity himself, is better than him
De Gea is proving himself the best keeper in the league this season
Fraser Foster - not much between them to be fair, I'd still take Foster over Scez though
Lloris is a better keeper than him
Adrian on par with him
Mignolet is worse than him
Fabianski
Tim Krul, a massive bell but better than Scez

So apart from Flappy who we all know about too well, only Liverpool out of the top 10 sides in the league have an inferior goalkeeper than us. Pretty damning.

Look up De Gea a few seasons back, he looked like a kid between the sticks, compare his progress in that same time with WZ1. It's not his fault but he's symbolic of what is wrong with the club from top to bottom.

Arseblog  was on twatter blaming the goalkeeping coaching for Scez's calamities yesterday. Funny that as he never blames Wenger for the rest of the clusterfcuks that go down.

It's ok to berate the goalkeeping coach but don't dare question our dear leader :censored:

I remember I got slated on here for criticising that idiotic bit of goalkeeping. :rubchin:

He will never be good enough.

Sure, goalkeepers have an arrogance about them but it is deserved after carving out consistent displays and learning from mistakes. He is midtable level at best. Will never be a good 'keeper.

Ospina needs a run in the team. No doubt about it.
