I made my feelings quite clear on this imbecile about 3 years ago on the online gooner forum. He was an arrogant moron then and 3 years on little has changed. Get him out of the club!

Gone, but not forgotten. He fails to mention he also wanted Denilson as our "first choice midfielder", and that Walcott "was our only world-class player".
Lol - wasn't Walcott one of his 'big three' with Song being one of the other two :D

In all fairness he did have a point about Chesney's arrogance. Not sure it was balanced by his claims of Djourou being an excellent CB, Theo being underpaid or Arshavin needing to play more and be made captain :D

He was one of the best WUMs on here in his prime. Too many beers on European nights went to his head in the end though.

Wojciech Szczesny’s dad: blame Arsenal issues on ‘rhinoceros’ Per Mertesacker

Wojciech Szczesny’s father believes the Poland goalkeeper should not be singled out for Arsenal’s “disastrous”defensive failings this season, instead pinning the blame on Per Mertesacker for “showing the agility of a rhinoceros”.

Szczesny has found his position under the spotlight this week following revelations he was caught smoking in the showers after Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat at Southampton on New Year’s Day, when his errors had played a part for both goals.

Maciej Szczesny, who was also a goalkeeper who played for Legia Warsaw and the Polish national team, described those reports as a “media invention” in an interview with Polish newspaper Przeglad Sportowy, although he did admit his son has had issues with Wenger in the past.

“What the British papers wrote about my son smoking under the shower after Southampton game, this is bollocks,” he said.

“It doesn’t surprise me as they are known for making stuff up. I have heard Wojciech smokes sometimes but he’s not that stupid to smoke in the dressing room.”

The 49-year-old also called for more focus to be placed on Arsenal’s shortcomings in other areas rather than just the form of their goalkeeper.

“He made a mistake for the first [Southampton] goal, coming too far from the goal, but please look at the Arsenal defence – how these guys are playing is a disaster, but for some reason, nobody pays any attention to it,” said Szczesny Sr.

“Laurent Koscielny should immediately have run [back] to protect Wojciech, and Per Mertesacker should have stood in the goal.

“Unfortunately they did not do that and gave him zero support, and in that situation Mertesacker showed the agility of a rhinoceros.

“Wojciech is often paying for it [the mistakes], and that he really cares. He needs someone who will critically analyse every game with him, but also remain positive.

“Someone should support him but the coaching staff at Arsenal are not doing that; meanwhile the entire defence this season is an embarrassment.”

Wenger is expected to step up efforts to bring in some much-needed defensive cover as the January transfer window continues.

The St Etienne captain Loïc Perrin is one reported target, along with the Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista. Arsenal’s Costa Rica forward Joel Campbell could be sent to Spain on loan as a makeweight for the Brazilian, who would require a work permit before any potential move to England.

TBH the smoking thing sounds like a smoke screen (sic) to me. I've heard there was trouble as a few of the players took offense to Chesney's carry on during the on-pitch celebrations after the FA Cup final, seeing as he contributed sweet fuck all to the win. Apparently this has been building and it kicked off in the changing room. :|

TBH I'm not sure how true that is, but he did act the cúnt a bit that day... :rubchin:

Been thinking that myself - the whole story seems so bizarre that it couldnt possibly be true could it ? :? I would guess that several players would have taken exception to his sitting there having a drink after howler number 2, and maybe it was the straw that broke the camels back ? Le cock has been (slightly) hanging him out to dry all season by constantly referring to the amount of goals we concede from a small number of shots, so maybe this axing has been coming ? Have to say that it is becoming more and more obvious that wenker is now making a very conscious effort to lay the blame at the feet of his players - lets be honest here and admit that chesney is 10 times the keeper average al ever was, but le cock stood by almunia all the time. Of course these days wenker himself is being criticised more than ever before so he is, in my opinion at least, trying to distance himself from any culpability by putting the blame solely at the feet of the players

Szczesnys dad is a mouthy *word censored* and it's easy to see how his arrogant little prick of a son has developed the attitude that he has.

That said calling Mertesacker a rhino made me lol

In today's mirror it was hinted that chesny isn't happy with the coaching he's getting from Gerry Peyton and also mentioned flappy also had the same problem with Peyton saying the coaching wasn't intensive or he wasn't pushed hard enough.

Perhaps there is a link between our GK standards slipping and Peyton having surgery (on his hip if I remember correctly?).

Perhaps there is a link between our GK standards slipping and Peyton having never been anything other than bog average as a keeper himself?

You could understand him going out on a huge bender, being pictured snorting coke off a prozzas snatch And stumbling out of a club grinning at 4am. But smoking in the showers? How old is he - fourteen?
