Coquelin signed?

Can he reproduce that form week in week out or like Frimpong has he turned in a one game wonder that we will never see again.
Frimpong had a good game ? Must have missed that one !
As others have said he didn't want Coquelin and we lent him out even after Arteta went down which I went spare on as I thought he should be given a chance seeing than Flamini like Arteta can no longer cut it in the premiership .
Now if there trying to sign him on a 30 k a week package fine , do it but if its another 50/60 k a week wankfest then I dont see the point !

Personally I think he can make it but with our gung ho style he may not fit in !

"Arsenal do not need new defensive midfielder" - Martin Keown

I hope (in some ways) that it is true - That Coquelin is the DMF we have all been calling for...And should he turn out to be that player (fingers crossed) - It is still more by luck that judgement on wengers behalf - he sent Coquelin out on loan - as far as he was concerned for the whole season - only through injuries was he forced to bring him back - And Coquelin has so far proved to be excellent - to be the spine in the mid-field that neither Capt Stoopid or Arteta could be...but, it is (for me) still more luck than judgement. Had there not been injuries - we would have struggled with the now too old Arteta and the other pointy shouting Mr Yellow Card and accident waiitng to happen.

Good luck to Coquelin he has seized his opportunity to take on the role of M.Field Enforcer with aplomb - Let's hope it isn't just a flash in the pan run of good games.

I find it funny that a player who keep loaning to other clubs and one whom we thought is crap and should be sold has suddenly become the second coming of Christ.

My sentiments exactly. He's done ok in half a dozen games. Wonder what the feeling will be on here if gets red carded against the scum and costs us the game.

Why is him getting loaned out such an issue for people?! He's come back and done well. Whatever happened in the past is that. Ashley Cole was off to Palace remember. Plus people are so down on Wenger's decision making, maybe he was wrong about this one again then.

If he makes a mistake in the game - getting a red etc. he would be like EVERY PLAYER EVER. Mistakes occur. Stop overreacting on hypothetical's

The point is that after years of not being considered good enough for us and being shipped out on loan to third-rate sides with hardly impressive reports coming back, people were tripping over themselves after a few games (mostly against shit opposition) to declare how fucking great he is.

Now the above means absolutely fuck all if he consistently turns in quality performances and I'd love nothing more than for him to make the grade. But it does mean that I am slightly reticent to make a rash judgment of his quality based on a few games. We've seen this sort of thing before - not least when most posters here were declaring how brilliant Flamini was in the early stages of last season, seemingly crowning him man of the match every game from August until November!

Reports in various papers that he has signed a new 'long-term deal'.

I, for one, welcome our new (old) defensive midfield overlord. :barscarf:
