As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

TA lives near Cirencester these days, he does make occasional appearances, IIRC he was at a small community football ground redevelopment opening in Stroud last year as guest of honour.
I believe he was briefly linked with being the New manager position at Forest Green last year but that was probably BS.
I dont like rte's (irish tv station) coverage, and some of the pundits are total arseholes (step forward sadlier ), but I do think that souness got his schooling while being a pundit on rte - the first couple of times he was on over here you can see the look of sheer horror on his face as the carnage occured around him Up to that point he was as vanilla as the rest of the sky/bbc/itv pundits (bt pundits are just total dogshite ), but now I think that he appreciates more of the fans need for honest appraisal more then nicey nicey rubbish
Souness nails it AGAIN!
Writing in his column in the Sunday Times, Souness said: "It amazes me that you never hear of his former players criticising him [Wenger].
"It's impossible to be a manager and not fall out with players, for the simple reason that they are young men with enormous egos. Maybe his players don't have a bad word to say about him because he never falls out with them.
"If you can sit on the bench, as manager of Arsenal, and allow Danny Welbeck to be as positionally indisicplined as he was on Wednesday [against Monaco], you either don't see it or you are not prepared to stand up and shout: 'Get out here'.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a studio pundit on Sky as animated as Souness was on Wednesday. He absolutely hammered Henry who clearly didn't want to repeat his anecdote about Guardiola cajoling him about positional discipline on air. I really hope Sky keep having him on there because he is the only decent pundit they've got.
I'm sure the apologists will render his criticisms void because he himself often struggled as a manager. Just like how Wenger feels that despite winning 11 Premier League titles Paul Scholes is not qualified to comment on whether a team is capable of winning the league or not because he's never managed a game.

Souness is the daddy of the pundits without a doubt. However, he did allow himself to get sucked into the "Wenger's greatest achievement" nonsense when we recovered from the irrelevant 8-2 and being 17th to winning another VT

Souness was spot on in my opinion and yes Henry did look very uncomfortable being forced to even slightly denounce Wenger. Will it make a difference? No I doubt it... the Wenger apologists will continue to dismiss anyone who criticises him as either bitter or jealous.
I've quoted this in full on the wenger thread, didn't realize baba had referenced it here. souness spot on on all points, including ex players. (but i do think souness is referring to recent ones, not those of the successful generations who don know first hand how crap he is now)
Watched sunday supplement this morning and I have to say that oliver holt is an absolute arrogant c.unt who appears to like nothing better than sucking on the end of wenkers knob His refusal to hear a bad word about wenker on any subject, would put pro wenker pundits like john cross and paddy Barclay to shame
Should also say that ian wrights lack of intelligence shone through again today on 5 live - I was listening to it this evening in the car and he practically repeated, word for word, what the pundits had said about wenker and Arsenal on sunday supplement
If Wright repeated the Sunday Supplement criticisms, why does that make him out to be un intelligent?
Maybe he agrees with it and feels he has little new to add?
I have not met him, but he has never struck me as of low IQ, the opposite in fact.
I know Piers Morgan may be a wanker, but in times of conflict you take any ally you can, and I fully admire him for his relentless slagging off of Wenker, despite what old Bob might say.
There are too many Ex Arsenal players who still have a close affiliation with the club itself, and so are unwilling to state the fucking obvious.
Fook me keown how much time do you think he needs??? muppet.
I heard Keown say this too,ive lost all respect for him these days,he may have been one of our greats but he is the biggest brown nose of Wenker of all time,he makes me swear at my t.v like no other when he rattles on about Wenker,im surprised he has any time at all to say anything tbh as he spends most of his time tucked in his pocket either sucking him off or licking his hoop

He wasn't quoting other jouro's/pundits, but was passing the comments off as his own FFS have an opinion of your own wrighty......it might be the right opinion or it might be the wrong opinion, but at least do your own thinking

I agree with Augie, have an opinion of your own, it might be the wrong opinion, but at least do your own thinking.
Ian Wright seems to have a completely different view on everything every time he talks.
It should be interesting to hear the views of a genuinely passionate, driven and honest individual but it needs to be tempered with far more thinking and common sense.
