Trophy Parade

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Nut Flush get over it , I've taken my kids 29,27,4 Over the Arsenal since they were quite literally babies .
Some of the language they have been subjected to was appalling but no more than they would hear on the streets given that they lived in Urban environments.
I don't look to footballer's for role models that's a parents Job and children are a reflection of ones self .
Jacks remarks have endeared him to all of us ,these are songs we all know and have sung, but trust me when I say I know far far worse ones about them .
Frankly I wouldn't have done the same cos for me as to acknowledge them up the road is to admit we even think of them ...................which I don't ! :barscarf: :barscarf:

Mehh as I said to the other geezer, how you bring up your kids is your business. BUT Jack is a role model, kids look up to him and if you think its ok for a child to use the word *word censored* in any context you live in cloud cuckoo land. I'm not saying any more on the matter.

Such a drama queen, where do you draw the line? Don't let kids watch Superhero cartoons incase it makes them try to fight people and save the world?

When they are taken in to this football environment it is the kids that have to adapt to situations and the parents responsibility to school them on the right or wrong of it, maybe Rugger or Tennis might be better for you if this caused offence.

"My old man said be a Tottenham fan.." was the point they cut over to the studio

Other classics from Jack's album included whaddaya think of Tottenham and "it's happened again"

In my opinion Jack let us Gooners down big time

Being used in a football song is a bit different from being generally alright to say in public, don.

And I see footballers as having professional responsibilities but not as role models. The most important role model should be the parent.

That was a personal choice made by the owner of the forum back when we had just been shut down and there was a push to lower the personal abuse and be more inclusive. To be honest, I (and a couple of other mods) disagree strongly with it being banned, but at the end of the day the owner makes that decision.

Personally I love the word. It is Anglo-Saxon at its best. :D

Indeed and what makes me laugh is when Americans try and use the word in films, just never sounds right

Its a great word and only scourned by the liberal left feminist. They will also try and ban the word moist. By the way, can you use the word if you're quoting someone on the forum? For example the Derek n Clive sketch.

I agree with Herd. The most offensive word jack used was....................

"Tottenham"

There really is no call for that!

My children are polite, helpful and generally good sorts ,but I'm biased of course.
Both went to good universities have good jobs, and are responsible citizens ,unlike their father at that age.
Hearing a few swear words at football hasn't scarred them and they certainly don't run around swearing in fact they were taught to speak properly and have a large vocabulary.
The biggest role models kids can have are their parents, It is frankly ludicrous to say that footballers should make good role models when we all know they are quite often narcissistic little shits with minimal IQ's.
Clearly though you also are also a bear with very little brain ,who cant read properly, because I didn't say it was ok for children to use bad language so I do think it's better for you say no more on the matter because you clearly haven't a fucking clue about what your saying ,c unt !

You talk about a disconnect with the fans, you don't have to resort to expletives in a family environment to show this.

Ohh wait, scrap that you probably haven't got any kids.

I have two sons (aged 12 and 10) and neither refers to sperz as anything other than the scum 8) Maybe I am wrong to tolerate/encourage that, but I am a Gooner and as a Gooner I have done several foolish/stupid things born out of a love of MY club and I will not apologise for that. When I bring my kids to matches (locally and to Arsenal games) I expect them to hear bad language and the day that stadiums are totally santitised will be a sad day for the game. When I bring my kids to the grove I expect them to listen and learn the words of the various chants regardless of what profanities are in the chants. This is a system that has been passed on through the generations and it works for me 8)
Big difference between scum and *word censored* imo. Even this forum doesn't permit it to be shown.

It's nothing to do with sanitising atmosphere. You don't have to use the word *word censored* to portray passion. What has diluted passion in english football grounds is the price we have to pay to watch our team. A lot of working class fans that used to watch us play in the 70s/80s can't afford to go these days. It is these fans that used to stand on the terraces and create the atmosphere.

They have been replaced by the prawn sandwich brigade. The way you bring your kids up is your right, but trust me most adults wont have their kids exposed to this sort of language.
What an absolute mug you are....go on about prawn sandwich brigade, sounds like you would be happy with everyone in straightjackets and demanding silence.....you and people like you are destroying our working class game....even more that FIFA and SKY.......No wonder they struggle for atmosphere with people like you around....go and find another sport you absolute mug....what about Womens football
