Your first Arsenal game

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I remember that game well, it was the night that only half the turnstiles were open for some reason and it was impossible to get in the nb or ce. We gave up and went to The Gunners til the crush had died down and only got in at half time.

Away at Leicester in about 1976. I was an innocent young teenager at time and stood amongst the home fans with my Arsenal silk scarf on! Didn't understand why I was getting so many funny looks. Anyway, we were really shit and lost 2-0. 32 years ago? Doesn't time fly when you're having fun?!

3-1 defeat at Highbury to Wimbledon.

How many others can say their first game was a home defeat to a team that doesn't exist any more?!

Wow, erm my first ever football game was Watford vs Preston, my mate took me and watford lost 2 nil so he never took me again.

First Arsenal game was last season at home to Charlton when we won 4-0, Henry penalty, Hoyte, Van Persie penalty then van Persie again with a sweet lil chip over Carson just as he committed.

Good times

You're first game happened on the very day I was born, November 16th 1985!

My first game was Arsenal vs Oldham Athletic, January 22nd 1994. Was sitting on the North Bank, they opened the scoring with a free kick before Ian Wright netted a penelty just before half time, was a dire game in the freezing cold. But I kept going back, it had gotten hold of me for life

as i am only 15, my first game was 1999 v derby. mustve been a shit game because we won 1-0 in the last minute with a kanu header. i can just remember my dad going mental at all the derby fans because they were wasting time whenver possible, and their fans were taking the piss. so as soon as we scored..... there was a few expletives. best day would be cardiff for the fa cup semi v blackburn. we were by far the better side, but jus the whole day was special. seeing our end rammed and theirs half empty gave me great pride. other good days would be last game of season 2002 and 2004. the north bank upper tier was bouncing against leicester when paddy scored the winner. and then outside the tavern on blackstock road, pissed gooners telling a woman to "get her tits out for ther lads" . sadly, she didnt oblige :D :D :D

Coventry City 0 v 1 Arsenal - Frank Mc Lintock scored the Tuesday before the FA Cup Final V Leeds which we lost 1 v 0. Programme was 5p!! and if my memory serves me well - a bag o' chips was similar (although my Dad would've paid!).
