I remember that game well, it was the night that only half the turnstiles were open for some reason and it was impossible to get in the nb or ce. We gave up and went to The Gunners til the crush had died down and only got in at half time.rebel gooner wrote:august 1980 versus southampton

Wow, erm my first ever football game was Watford vs Preston, my mate took me and watford lost 2 nil so he never took me again.
First Arsenal game was last season at home to Charlton when we won 4-0, Henry penalty, Hoyte, Van Persie penalty then van Persie again with a sweet lil chip over Carson just as he committed.
Good times

You're first game happened on the very day I was born, November 16th 1985!Cus Geezer wrote:Versus Oxford in November 1985.
Davis and Woodcock scored for Arsenal, Jeremy Charles son of former Arsenal player Mel and nephew of former Leeds and Juventus player John Charles scored for Oxford.
This was a week after losing 6-1 to Everton.
My first game was Arsenal vs Oldham Athletic, January 22nd 1994. Was sitting on the North Bank, they opened the scoring with a free kick before Ian Wright netted a penelty just before half time, was a dire game in the freezing cold. But I kept going back, it had gotten hold of me for life
as i am only 15, my first game was 1999 v derby. mustve been a shit game because we won 1-0 in the last minute with a kanu header. i can just remember my dad going mental at all the derby fans because they were wasting time whenver possible, and their fans were taking the piss. so as soon as we scored..... there was a few expletives. best day would be cardiff for the fa cup semi v blackburn. we were by far the better side, but jus the whole day was special. seeing our end rammed and theirs half empty gave me great pride. other good days would be last game of season 2002 and 2004. the north bank upper tier was bouncing against leicester when paddy scored the winner. and then outside the tavern on blackstock road, pissed gooners telling a woman to "get her tits out for ther lads" . sadly, she didnt oblige
