Agree with Digger and Flash.flash gunner wrote:Strange im with Digger on this one. i thought he looked class before the injury almost always hit the terget when shooting and his goals to game ratio was good considering he was still settling into a new league and a much more physical one at that too.g88ner wrote:I'm with Rebel on this.digger wrote:Really?REBEL GOONER wrote:if so then wish the guy all the best, even before his injury i didnt feel he was cut out for the premier league but i hope he goes on and proves himself a quality player over there.
He was the best finisher I've seen at Arsenal since Ian Wright. Never ever seemed to fluff a one on one and was capable of great goals (vs Sheffield United in the Carling Cup).
I was rather underwhelmed with Eduardo before his injury, and after his injury his reputation went through the roof!![]()
Yes, his finishing was superb (like Fowler) but he was often played out wide and his goalscoring record in his first season (7gls in 23 CL and Premier League games) was ok, but no more than that.
His injury came at a time when I think we were all hoping he would kick on, but in reality it never really happened for him before or after that thug broke his leg.
It's great that he's made it back, and I think there's a cracking striker in there somewhere... but we've only ever seen glimpses of that, and built the rest up in our mind, I'm afraid.
Sad to see him go, but quite frankly he was a waste of space last season.
The injury fucked Eddy over and i think he was lucky to be able to walk again let alone play football, i hope one day he will be back to his best but i dont think that will be at arsenal. Good luck Eddy
Stats do not tell full story, as in the late 2007 early 2008 months pre-injury he had started to settle in and find a really good run of form.
Above all, he looked very sharp, a natural goalscorer.
