diarra set to go !!!!!!!!

Post by nuttygoonerpaul »

Arsenal hope to complete the sale of French midfielder Lassana Diarra, 22, to Portsmouth for £5.5million.

Boss Harry Redknapp beat Spurs to Diarra’s signature and will make him one of the top earners at Fratton Park on £60,000 a week.

Diarra was close to signing for Newcastle before Sam Allardyce was sacked.

Sorry to see him go.Doesn"t deserve to be picked in front of Flamini but is better back up than either Gilberto or Denilson.Wenger obivously thought he was good in August, but hasn"t done nothing to block this move.

Harry Redknapp has ruled out the move for Diarra, also Arsene said there has been no offers and that he wants Diarra to stay...

I think that if Diarra does not want to stay then Wenger will not force him to. Negativity is infectious...

A shame if he does go though.

I really hope Diarra isn't sold, he's the future of our defensive midfield: Gilberto is past his best and unlikely to stay beyond the summer and Flamini (who I think is probably unable to maintain his fine form in the long term) is out of contract at the end of the season. So, having had an embarrassment of riches in centre midfield a few months ago, we could end up next year trying to partner Cesc with his back-up, Denilson, or Diaby, who may or may not be able to recover his excellent early form of a couple of years ago.

Diarra was a bit of a tit, mouthing off to the French footy press a while ago, and he must have known getting a first team spot straight away would be tough (even if Flamini's been a bit of a surprise to everyone) but the boy's top quality, we should do everything we can to keep him. Cesc and Diarra is our future midfield pairing I'm sure of it....

If Diarra is sold and i hope he isn"t that meens we would have £5.5m burning a hole in the clubs pocket any chance we could buy a centre half with it? Please

Couldn't give a toss either way if he is sold or not!

He has hardly impressed and if he thinks he has a god given right to be in the team because he was a measly £2 million quid transfer from the Chavs then he is very much mistaken!

Sure he has talent but I hate the quitting attitude half way through his first season!

For once I agree with Gus totally.

Rather than fight for his place he'll flounce off, not once but twice.

Wrong attitude.
