Oh what a night...So fucking happy...Rice was immense, as was Timber snd MLS...But honourable mentions for Kiwior and Merino...Partey was solid, but fucking ridiculous yellow card. Two great goals...One gripe, there was three uncharacteristic mistakes from Saliba, one led to the goal...However we will forgive him that.
On we go.....

Don't want to get negative, but thought the same thing about Saliba. Shaky at times tonight and not been on his best form recently. Still, no harm tonight.
I thought Raya was partly to blame... BUT... it doesn't matter thank The Gods

Also Saka needs to ave a word with himself about doing stupid things in Important games...

Ok - first time posting, so queue the abuse...

But, can anyone remember a better performance by an Arsenal midfielder than Declan Rice tonight? Love Paddy to bits, but I can't even remember Vieira having a game like that...

Welcome to the asylum Adam.

Bit of a sharp intake of breath from me....Declan was undoubtedy brilliant in both legs, but Paddy was a skilled warrior for years and is the one player that we've never got even close to replacing. If Rice can be even 80% of the player that Paddy was for that long, then I'll be delighted. Not taking anything away from Rice over this QF though.

Two that stand out for me are Rocky at the scousers in 89 and Santi Cazorla at cheaty about ten years ago. Rice was world fucking class tonight, though. Absolutely world class.

And, by the way, where were you when we were...
Santi at City is a good shout.

Where was I when we were shit - Probably sat in the away end at OT watching Stepanovs and Luzhny try to defend... Makes nights like these all the sweeter....

What's been so fucking impressive has been that we've produced two absolutely brilliant but completely different performances against the holders. We gave them about five minutes in the game over two legs. It was complete domination and control over 180 minutes.
Agreed mate. Under There's Only One AW we'd have tipped tapped our way round both games and been ripped to ribbons. Those days are gone and even those of us who are critical of what we haven't done (no strikers, shit transfer window etc) would be the first to say that it's such a pleasure to know 8-2, 6-0, 5-1 wallopings are a thing of the past

In the first game we showed we can pump a team when we need to for 45 minutes where as tonight we showed we can absorb what you've got to throw and bide our time

I said earlier, I think PSG are a dream opponent for us and I'm also praying it's Barcelona in the final if we get there. The bores of Inter Milan will be the hardest for us

Catching up on the thread now - we were genuinely THAT good tonight?
Absolutely spot on with everything apart from a terrible penalty and a mix up from Saliba and Raya. It was a pure masterclass. Far too good for them.
Cheers, Perry! :barscarf:

That’s truly brilliant and I’m so so proud of us. I hate not watching but I feel superstitious about watching as we seem to do well in Europe if I don’t. Might have to abstain against PSG too

You said you wouldn't watch ATID and were as good as your word. No watching against PSG either my friend.
Agreed! :barscarf:

I may never be allowed to watch us play again, at this rate.

Partey will be a big fucking loss in the first leg. Jorginho with his concrete boots. Zinchenko brain farting his way around. Or MLS shoved up with Timber left back and White right back.

Let's be honest, score the penalty and don't gift them a goal and it's another 3-0. Wouldn't have flattered us either.

The latter option will likely be best. Can’t see that being too detrimental to us, if that’s the case.

Such a bloody daft yellow too - Dec's reaction said it all. Definitely a problem to ponder for that first leg
