PSG A Big lugs Semi final 2nd Weds 7th May KO 8pm

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Fortunate I guess that we’re just playing a small team with no serious financial backing/political shenanigans involved.

We're gonna try bribe him by PSG's amount plus 1 pound, that'll show him we mean business.

This is what gives me a dose of the trots

How the fuck can UEFA seriously put a ref in charge of such an important game, regardless that it's us, that has previous for match fixing.

At what point will the commentators mention it when Saliba gets booked in the first five minutes :rubchin:

It's fucking scandalous.

I'm uncertain on this one, but if we get after them we can win, but if Diet Pep sits back it will be a painful "dans les fesses"

We will start well and miss a couple of gilt-edge chances that any team with a striker would put away. They will score two, and Raya will be near their penalty box for the first. The game will be over at halftime. The second half will be a master class of sideways passing, with a sub on at 87 minutes.

Aren't we missing something re this ref - maybe we're the ones who have tucked a few quid in his top pocket?

That bent ref would be perfect for the Premier League.

Lads for the record the ban was a few years ago and he has since refereed england in a euro's knockout game last summer that ye won and there was no big hoopla about him either before or after that game - methinks someone out there is deliberately trying to rile up the Gooner masses cos we have a history of looking to lay the blame elsewhere when we fail.

Unfortunately I can't watch it, so maybe we have a hope!

If we score one early on, we might nick a second. That's the optimistic side of me. If they score first we are fucked dead. That's the realistic side of me.

Oddly, like a few others I'm not as nervous as I was last week. I think we are fucked and will lose, and anything else is just a huge bonus!

Come On Arsenal. :box:
Pretty much how I see it. The first goal is absolutely pivotal. When we go behind we always look like we feel sorry for ourselves - become very Wenger-like in that sense recently - so I could never see us what Barca did last night for example in wiping out a 2 goal deficit. No nerves at all - maybe that will change come kick off time or if we do go a goal up and it suddenly comes back into view again. Odds hugely stacked against us and in many ways that settles the nerves down
Sadly the Wenger “gallant losers” mentality is still rife at the club
Overall I believe that we showed very good spirit.....

We'll either sail through with a perfect performance where the corner routines all work and every pass in the box comes off or we'll draw 0-0 and miss a great chance towards the end.

Well let’s hope we all get lucky tonight !

The bent ref sends one of there’s off and we score from the resulting penalty .

There is a performance in our team , we saw it in the last round .

So chin up lads , it’s not over (yet)
