In all fairness bren that is total bullshit :o Cesc is by far and away our best player and is being forced into carrying a team with too many average players......I actually feel sorry for the guy cos he has shown us tremendous loyalty and yet wenger and the board give him donkey team-mates and expect him to pull miracles from his arse :( :banghead:

Why is it harsh? Not just on todays performance, but lets be brutally honest here, Denilson, Almunia, Song, Diaby, Eboue, Bendtner amongst others are shit, no where near the standard that should be playing for us

Yea i agree , he is so over rated , the only reason he looked so good for

4 or 5 years was because he was playing in a team that was full of

numptys , but now he is playing in a team full of quality he just hasn't

got the quality to stand out , hes overshadowed by the true quality

around him. Its time to get rid of him , its criminal making quality like

Eboue sit on the bench when over rated rubbish like Fabregas is getting a

game.

Knew this one would come up and it was his best game in an important match.....but Diaby was better on the night.

Spurs at home, really isnt as big as it once was, and also the opposition were pure shite and as i said in previous post gave him acres of space to play his own game.

IM NOT SAYING CESC IS A BAD PLAYER IM SAYING HE'S OVERRATED.......AND HE IS.

Bren, Manny Pacquiao is over-rated. Well until he beats Mayweather at least.

And even if he don't he's still good.

See Fabregas for the above. 8)

I don't think he's all that to be honest. Yes, he's better than Denilson, Song and the others he's been lumbered with in midfield, but he's not consistent, and lacks impact on a game that's required for a captain/player in his position.

I'm not denying he's a good player; but if today was 2004, he wouldn't be a definite on the team sheet. Yes, he's had great games, but not as many as he should have. I don't rely on him as being capable to swing a game, which is a shame. If he left, I don't think we'll miss him as much as many think, as evidenced by our win percentage in the games he's missed in the last three years.

So yes, I'd have to agree that he is overrated.

Firstly how is he meant to carry a midfield that all too frequently includes such "talented" players as diaby, eboue, song etc ??

Secondly how is he supposed to play his best when the whole fcuking team are getting physically pushed about like fcuking rag dolls today ? The sight of traore going absolutely flying through the air from a fair shoulder from drogba was embarrassing to be truthful and that is in now way a knock on traore. Wenger has built a team that could play in the lepruchan world cup and then he expects them to be able to compete with the strong physical teams cos we play beautiful football  Bollox to that...put in a PV4 type player alongside cesc and then he would start setting the place alight (wouldnt stop us leaking goals at an alarming rate though  )

Spurs at home will always be big and the fact they are (annoyingly) "up there" in the league means your talking nothing but rubbish.

Please explain how Spurs isn't as big as it once was.....

I ACTUALLY CAN'T BELIEVE THIS POST EXISTS

He wasn't even in the Spain first XI that won Euro 2008 last year, and only made an appearance in the final due to an injury to another player.

If he was the player that everyone claims he is, this wouldn't have been the case.

And I'm not buying the "he's only as good as the players around him" line. Wright shone through in a team of utter dross, and I'd imagine that Henry and Bergkamp would've shown their class in amongst a bunch of losers as well.

To say that Fabregas can only play well if there are only good players "supporting" him simply reveals his limitations.

Exactly. Bren, you usually make decent posts, but this is one of the worst threads ever. Make it a sticky so people can laugh at it for years to come please!
