I think you need to ease off on it now. You have the petition up and running, we are all very aware of your viewpoint on the board, how much further can you take it? You are an intelligent and witty bloke, try posting on some other (lighter) subjects, you might actually enjoy it!
I’ll start at the end – I post plenty of non-Board comments in non-Board threads – look it up.
I happen to be more concerned about these issues than I am about tit threads. I can’t lie I do try to play along and I do in fact, but sometimes things happen – events happen I mean that dictate re-visiting these issues I am focused on. When that happens – like On Wednesday - that’s what I do.
I will note one thing though. Before I ever posted there were already snarky posts about me and my views before I ever posted a thing. I could have ignored them – I chose not to. I am responsible for choosing to reply. But if they did not want me to reply they should not have risked inviting a reply either by effectively calling me by name..
But precisely because I was about to hi-jack those other threads I opened a new thread of my own which of course proved that all I do is keep opening new threads. Talk about damned if you do, damned if you don’t?
But what happened with Theo illustrates a key point – a protocol about how and when to discuss matters is just unrealistic as real-time drives this forum and new events daily can and do shape what we are thinking and feeling and concerned about. How silly is it to say if reports pop up that the Board were ready to sell to bunch of homeless blokes who somehow got a 500 million pound loan that we can’t discuss this its been done to death already?
A silly example but I think the point is clear. Whatever you think or whoever you believe to be responsible for the current goings-on, you can’t simply set up some timetable for where when and how these issues can be discussed because the real world is going to intrude.
And I’m not sure we really get this – because there are a lot of people for various reasons who seem to be really concerned but not willing – as is their right – to sign the petition. And there is nothing that will change for the better by any of us doing nothing. And for those waiting for when the supporter base will ready to do something, all that guarantees is the situation getting even worse first – perhaps much worse.
Should we really wait for that because that might be easier to do? Should we do nothing because we might not succeed? Five years ago I was warning people that at best we’d be right where we are now and got the same reactions I am getting now. So what does that say? That we should continue to say and do nothing and wait to see what happens another five years on? And another? And Another? Until we’re s***s now and they’re us in 1998-2005? And those who brought us are all just even more rich at our expense?
It may be a pain in the ass to read what I say or even to know I’m actually saying it, but it’s a bigger pain in the ass to see hopes and dreams dashed over and over year after year the same way for the same reasons isn’t it?
