And also don't forget that North London isn't theirs either, so that part is also weak.

It's too much and too far gone for a smoke screen. The olympic stadium plans have been submitted so are we saying that this is a ruse to get Harringay to budge?

As Levy's said it's Stratford or bust. Even If they lose the stratford bid Harringay could up the re-development costs of the area. It's already too costly for them.
They've even totally shelved plans to re-develope SHL. Made it clear that moving out is their only option now.

I think that both bids had to put up a sizeable security (in the millions), to insure against this.

Still, if Haringey could provide benefits that outweigh that money, then they'd pull out anyway - although it looks unlikely, if spurs have gone this far already.

They need to move full stop.

At the moment there's no way they can afford to stay at SHL that includes re-developing.

stg is right. It cost Â£390m for the move, with the total coming in at Â£470m for the "entire project" which i would assume would be the flats and the property development.
