I don't really have a problem with the advert, tbh. They clearly wanted to feature a defining match from last season, and given the limited number of games BT Sport actually had the rights to, this was probably the only one worth highlighting.
Sure, I don't really get why they're showing people reacting to it as if they're watching the CL Final, but it doesn't really offend me, either. It's worse, in my opinion, when ads feature fictitious/simulated scorelines that have us losing. At least in this instance, the match actually happened, and we lost it fair and square.
Betfair had that 'Do you, don't you' cashout advert running for years, and that featured the Man Utd 4-4 Everton game when Everton scored two right at the end. Pretty sure that wasn't the media hating Man Utd - just a relevant game for the point they were trying to make.
When I see embarrassing complaints like this one I found on Twitter, I cringe big-time:

Seeing Ryan Giggs' SF winner on the Match of the Day opening montage every week in 1999/00 was far more aggravating than this, yet that didn't seem to be perceived as the media hating us.
