Media getting back to hating us (BT Sport Ad)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Manure got thrashed 1-6,at home and lost the league to their hated rivals,we humiliated the chavs 3-5 on their own ground, Spurs have been humiliated by everyone and anyone over the last couple of seasons.

Yet oddly no piss take ad.

There is a bias but I wouldn't lose sleep over it as it is small time to celebrate a one off win that was ultimately meaningless.

We beat them twice at out place, with the second win eventually leading to the record equalling 11th FAcup win.

Unlike Gerrard, we didn't slip on our a*se and give it to Demba Ba.

Two key points from that:

1) I, and I suspect many gooners, will not be subscribing to BT Sport. As if Neil Warnock wasn't enough..

2) Daniel Sturridge is far too full of himself for a player who has achieved fuck all. The proof will be in the pudding when he doesn't have Suarez doing all the work, hopefully we wont see that shitty dance too many times next season.

All these Liverpool cu*ts would do well to pipe down, we put more past them at Anfield then they ever did against us - and we did it with our kids.

Glad that the media is resorting to Arsenal bashing again as it means we have them worried.

All too often they were praising us re "pretty football" knowing it got us nowhere...

Bring it on :box: :box:

Pay him no mind, he's actually a Spud which is even worse.

The funniest thing about this is if you listen to the audio, the podcast host actually went out of his way to call Darren Lewis a "respectable football journalist"...

You can be sure he's not, the fact the host had to try and give Lewis credibility says it all.

Everyone's salty because we got Sanchez, and that's the only thing that matters here: we got Alexis Sanchez.

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
No he is not. Although he covers Spurs for the Mirror, I've heard the guy many times over the past few years say he is a Liverpool fan.

As for the ad, can't see what all the fuss is about. It's not as if they made it up and the result didn't happen. I think some gooners should stop be so sensitive. There are and have been more genuine examples showing the majority of the media's hate and unfair treatment of our club without the need to act so precious over what is after all just an advert. Don't like it? Don't subscribe!! Although again there are plenty of other and proper reasons not to - namely their piss poor co-commentators and analysts.
Don't think anyone is being overly sensitive or precious. BT Sport are supposed to be an impartial broadcaster. If that result won the bindippers the league then fair enough, but it was meaningless which highlights they did it out of spite. Even getting Mourinho and fish lips to take the piss.

Would they show how they bottled it against Chelsea and Palace to promote their channel? Will they fuck. I wouldn't subscribe to a channel with Michael Owen and Warnock as commentators on principle.

BT Sport are pure scum..I complained to them , as did others, about Warnock's bias in the Cup Final and like others I got a standard reply.. this takes their pro Liverpool and anti Arsenal bias to a new low.. And to think Victim fans say the British media forced Suarez out.... WANKERS the lot of them...

Perhaps it's because BT weren't one of the main broadcasters when those things happened? :rubchin: :rubchin:

And that would be a legitimate reason not to subscribe. All the rest is trivial.

I don't really have a problem with the advert, tbh. They clearly wanted to feature a defining match from last season, and given the limited number of games BT Sport actually had the rights to, this was probably the only one worth highlighting.

Sure, I don't really get why they're showing people reacting to it as if they're watching the CL Final, but it doesn't really offend me, either. It's worse, in my opinion, when ads feature fictitious/simulated scorelines that have us losing. At least in this instance, the match actually happened, and we lost it fair and square.

Betfair had that 'Do you, don't you' cashout advert running for years, and that featured the Man Utd 4-4 Everton game when Everton scored two right at the end. Pretty sure that wasn't the media hating Man Utd - just a relevant game for the point they were trying to make.

When I see embarrassing complaints like this one I found on Twitter, I cringe big-time: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bsag4W2CMAAwFjB.jpg:large

Seeing Ryan Giggs' SF winner on the Match of the Day opening montage every week in 1999/00 was far more aggravating than this, yet that didn't seem to be perceived as the media hating us.

As an example of a fictitious defeat, did anybody ever have the misfortune of seeing Goal II: Living the Dream?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goal_II:_Living_the_Dream

It ends up with Real Madrid playing Arsenal in the CL Final, and - if I recall correctly - uses actual clips from our win at the Bernabeu in 2006. Except this time, we go 2-0 up and then Beckham scores right at the end to win the game 3-2 for Madrid. Beckham FFS!

They clearly weren't good enough to beat us in 2006, yet ended up with this total nonsense instead of avenging their defeat by, you know, actually beating us in a real game. This pissed me off far more than the BT ad. By using real clips from our win there, it almost felt as if they were attempting to re-write history and nullify our historic win.

It's a massively misjudged ad.

Yes, some of us are being a bit precious but then football fans are a precious bunch and you'd think BT Sport would know that. They could have made an ad that has the exact same message without focusing entirely on one game. Then they go and get Jar-Jar Binks and Maureen to stick the knife in? Did anybody at the company think that through?

It just suggests amateur hour to me, why would you want to alienate the most well supported club in London?
