Is it possible that somewhere in the midst of that many emails and texts messages some of us would send something stupid like that ? If so does that make us or him a proper racist or somebody who said something trying to be funny but instead came out looking like a racist cock ? It would also concern me how they obtained this info - if you obtain a warrant then that is something that is specific to a particular accusation and being a racist/homophobe arsehole was not what he was accused of so is it even legal to act on illegally obtained material (if only we had a lawyer on here that could help us out on this question![]()

It is not just two texts though is it, it is loads of them and emails and as others have said, it is the way that the stuff was written and what is actually said that rankles.WE8SPURS wrote:I'm certainly no racist but am I the only person who doesn't see the story here? The guy sent a
Couple of ill advised texts that have bitten him on the arse, end of.

Anyone can make the odd comment, but these comments reek of a deep arrogance.
And bigotry, not just a feeble attempt at a "joke" etc.
Obviously the Jewish stuff annoys me but the stuff about Black players?
Where has Mackay been for the last 20 years, under a rock?
Initially I felt MacKay had been very hard done by when sacked, but in retrospect there had to be more to being sacked than overspending on transfers, it was not as if he spent £100M or something ridiculous.
As others have said, if you are going to tussle with a billionaire be sure what you are getting into, they did not get that billion by being dumb.
Nope, it was purely down to Tan thinking Mackay had been profligate with the transfer budget he was given. He was telling anyone who would listen that was the reason at the time and long after. Anyone who is subsequently thinking that this latest issue was the real reason he was sacked are ignoring the fact that if that was true, Tan would have used it as the excuse for sacking Mackay at the time and probably avoided all the bad publicity he and the club received. No, as augie suggested and I hinted at earlier, this is just a case of a nasty piece of work chairman getting his additional pound of flesh for the shit he went through with both Mackay and the other bloke that went to Palace and apparently used inside info against Cardiff.QuartzGooner wrote:It is not just two texts though is it, it is loads of them and emails and as others have said, it is the way that the stuff was written and what is actually said that rankles.WE8SPURS wrote:I'm certainly no racist but am I the only person who doesn't see the story here? But do we know at this stage how many of the offensive texts and emails were sent by him, and how many were sent by his buddy ? Last I heard it is suggesting that the investigation covered emails and texts sent by both and not specifically by McKay alone - not using that as a way to defend him but his predicament would be far worse if he was the only one sending this crap
I hope for his sake that he is racist and that these texts were not a joke - the guy is finished in the pro game imo, so it would be fair enough to be expelled for being a racist c*nt but to be frozen out for being a stupid bastard trying to be funny! would be a shame

quite rightly so Quartz, but thats my point, they were NOT made in public and were quite probably taken out of context in private. Agreed he was mad not to think that even private banter would get out. I maintain that the bad one was as much the person who leaked them. Private thoughts and comments are private, and shame for him that a so called mate has leaked them. We just dont know the context etc of what went on to be able without doubt to pass judgement on the man.QuartzGooner wrote: As for the comments Theoperator, if someone made them here they'd get a ban.
He did act though.I Hate Hleb wrote: If you seriously think Tan knew something about Mackay's alleged racist nature way back then but didn't act
