I agree 100% with Donaldo. I think it would be one of the biggest mistakes in Arsenal's history if we kept Adebayor after his recent quotes. The possibility of getting anything over £20 million for someone of his ability is surely too good to turn down. I would be absolutely devastated if he stayed ...

With the number of players that newspapers allege Arsenal are supposed to be buying or selling it is difficult for the club to keep denying or agreeing with each report. I think our press are pretty poor and it's just lazy journalism to think of a player that might fit in at Arsenal and then saying ...

gooner ed

I can remember being excited about signing " Smudger " at the time and we paid £850 000 for him which seemed a lot for us to spend in those days.

I didn't include Sol because although he was a "big" signing , we got him for free!

I did forget to mention Charlie Nicholas (I don't know ...

signings

After supporting Arsenal for forty years I've got used to not signing players that I hoped we would buy. This must be the same for supporters of most teams but since I've supported Arsenal we have rarely spent money on big name players. Notable exceptions have been

I agree with Tony C about Adebayor. It's not an issue about "ade bashing". I would love it if he turned into one of the great strikers, but I just don't think it's going to happen. Don't get me wrong, with his record he is definitely a premiership player and he would walk into most teams. However, I ...

I agree to a certain extent but (and it's a big but ) only if we have the money to spend. Whatever strength team you have got, if there is money available,it is not going to do any harm adding quality to the squad.
I think Arsene's transfer policy has generally been excellent. The profit we made on ...

no funds available

I'm one of the supporters who are disappointed we haven't splashed the cash but only because we were informed that we had some to spend!
At the beginning of the season I, like many gooners, expected the team to be fighting for a top four finish and anything else would have been a bonus. I didn't ...

If we did have any money in the kitty we would all have differences of opinion about who to bring in.
However, one thing is certain...........If John Arne Riise became available and we bought him I think we'd all agree that we were heading in the wrong direction!!!! ( sorry about that one you've ...

"[quote][quote="we_are_the_arsenal"]We don't have the money to splash FFS. How stupid can people get? There was no way in hell we could of afforded Torres last season. Do some research. Look at Arsenal's financial position before writing pieces. I swear, the IQ of some Gooners is scary.

"I bet the author spends a lot of money in a swanky restaurant and complaints that for what it costs he expects it to smell of perfume and roses when it comes out the other end."

I do not spend my money in swanky restaurants. My biggest expense is supporting the Arsenal. I think that when you ...

I'm afraid I agree with the original article. The team have performed and succeeded far more than I expected, but although I've got a lot of respect for Arsene I don't agree with his transfer policy particularly as we have funds available. He always buys unproven players and has had good success ...

Great manager that Wenger is, he sometimes doesn't seem to understand the mindset of real fans. Just this week he has stated that the 39th game played abroad would be a good idea when anyone with any football sense knows that the whole idea is crazy.
He then plays a weakened team against our ...
