As usual I will be the odd man (well Irishman anyway) out and will say something unpopular with my compatriots but fcuk it I will say it anyway.....I dont like martin o'neill 8) For me if a manager has aspirations to manage an international team his objective should be to manage his own country ...

Not in Britain maybe but you must have heard of Robert Enke, surely? Not that this was necessarily as long-term as that but that was similar in that it was a suicide of a high-profile (probably more high profile actually) footballing person.

As someone who has personal experience with a lot of ...

Wigan look goners already

He appeared to do quite well at Swansea, although I don't know enough about the financial circumstances, as having money in the lower leagues makes things much, much easier.

Rodwell isn't a proper holding midfielder at this stage in his career, is he? He's a box to box type, the sort you'd play alongside a holding midfielder when you don't have the ball and then goes forward when you get it back. Sure he'll develop into a very good one probably but he's not quite there ...

Why on earth did you have an Arsenal defender in there in the first place?

Adams. Bridged the two great modern eras of the club unlike Bergkamp and Henry.

Louis Van Gaal. Best choice by miles. Can build clubs up as well as win them trophies and we'll need someone who can do that.

Having a player like Benayoun on the bench ready to come into the team is not a bad thing. I don't understand people judging him simply because Chelsea let him go rather than forming their own opinion. He's a good player who's been around top clubs for a few years and always links play and makes ...

Not that it would have mattered but taking our only defensive midfielder off led to 3 goals in the next 8 minutes.

This United team was there for the taking. We had 3 or 4 gilt edged chances today even with this dire performance. I watch L2 football every week and most teams down there are more organised than this.

I think it was 4-4-2 in the past.

Vieira was up and down the pitch all game, not just sitting deep with Petit or Gilberto.

I also think Parlour and Ljungberg tracked back a lot more than our current wide men.

What about Dennis? Because despite all you've said you could still call it a 4-4-1-1 ...
