Seems odd that the press officer would respond to members of the public. I kind of figured they handled the media rather than general enquiries from the public.

With the exception of Campbell, Overmars and to a lesser extent Gallas, I'd say all the players I knew about before they signed for us have done poorly whilst playing for us.

I didn't no much about Henry other than he didn't do well in Italy. The rest that I did know about performed quite poorly ...

It's probably a good thing that he's going to Euro 2008. If he gets injured whilst playing for them instead of getting injured mid-late august when the transfer window is about to close I'll be happier. At least it'll give us time to sort out a loan replacement or something.

Just received an e-mail from Arsenal's press officer, here's an extract from it:

Pat is currently on holiday with his wife and both are very well. Pat is looking forward to pre season training, remaining as assistant manager for the new season.

Out of curiousity. Why did the press officer email ...

Will they still be off to Austria as well :?:

I don't think so. According to the arsenal site, we have away games to Barnet and Stuttgart, home games against Juventus and Real Madrid in the Emirates Cup, and then away to Huddersfield. No mention of the Amsterdam tournament.

I always felt that ...

Magistrates can send people to jail for no longer than a year. With Barton's history of violence, let alone his families, I think 6 months is too lenient.

Not to my knowledge they can't. 6 months was the max in magistrates court when I was in the job.

Magistrates' sentencing powers extend to ...

Yes. He has no self control and there are too many idiots in this country that won't keep themselves to themselves. He could easily turn on an aggresive autograph hunter or someone that speaks to his girlfriend or what not. He's far too volatile.

Time in jail isn't going to help him but it does ...

Technically he was out on bail after the incident with Dabo, so getting into another fight on similar charges should have resulted in him either ...

Why are we always invited to this tournament? I figured that we'd stop doing it now that we have the Emirates Cup. Does it make the club that much cash?

I know they make a mil ot two from the Emirates Cup.

I think it's about time we got a new number two in. Someone who knows how to organise the defence.

I'm not quite sure what Pat Rice has done in recent years other than being everyone's friend and a yes man to Wenger. He's more like the teams shrink than an assistant manager. If it were me I'd give ...

What do people have against Bullard? He did good at Wigan and was doing great for Fulham, he was in the top five of the fantasy league because of his goals and assists, before his injury.

I don't think he's worse than Barry, a player you all seem to be happy to have. Just because Bullard isn't an ...

The only reason France is getting anywhere, it's not because of the coach but because of the very talented players. I think we're a bit like chelsea at the moment...

I don't like to think of Les Bleus as equivalent to Chelsea but you're right. But I (and, no doubt, lots of other Arsenal fans ...

That only works if we weren't losing when Eboue came off. The 11-14 players involved in a match all take responsibility for the end result as they all had a chance to change it.

Great, just hope it's a clause in the contract that says he has to learn how to cross the ball though!...and if he still can't do it better than me after 6 months I'm taking over 8)

Are you forgetting the goals he set up for Eduardo? It's not his fault the other strikers and Eboue don't get in ...
